CRANBERRY 4, A-C VALLEY 3; CRANBERRY 8, A-C VALLEY 3

WEST FREEDOM, Pa. – Cranberry swept a doubleheader at A-C Valley winning Game One, 4-3, and Game Two, 8-3.

In Game One, the Berries trailed 3-2 after A-C Valley scored three times in the top of the fifth.

But Olivia Plummer’s two-out double to center in the bottom of the fifth gave Cranberry the lead back for good.

   

                  

Plummer was 2-for-3 in the contest with two doubles and three RBIs, while Keelie Schneider scored twice while going 1-for-3.

Rylan Strauser was 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs for A-C Valley with Hannah Ithen going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Plummer was the winning pitcher in relief of Alaina Hogue going 2 ⅔ innings allowing no run on two hits and a walk while striking out four.

Hogue pitched 4 ⅓ innings allowing three earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out eight.

Shaina Whitmer took the loss throwing six innings allowing four runs, all earned, one eight hits, a walk, and a hit batter while striking out one.

                          

In the second game, Cranberry scored six of its eight runs over the final three innings scoring two runs in each of those frames.

Cassie Scarbrough hit a home run while going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs for the Berries, while Plummer was 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs, Riley Coe was 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored, Alisha Beggs was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Schneider was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Lexi Bauer paced A-C Valley going 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Coe got the win going seven innings allowing three runs, one earned, on six hits and a walk while striking out nine.

               

Strauser suffered the loss pitching seven innings allowing eight runs, six earned, on 16 hits while striking out four.

KANE 10, EISENHOWER 5

NORTH WARREN, Pa. – Behind four hits from Leah Tigani, including a pair of doubles, Kane went on the road and beat Eisenhower, 10-5.

Maya Smith, Madison Stahli, Makieya McGuire, and Lilly Peterson also had doubles for the Lady Wolves, while Smith and Hailee Sheaffer each scored three runs.

Stahli got the win allowing five runs, three earned, on while striking out four.

BROCKWAY 8, SMETHPORT 1

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Behind a strong pitching performance from Gabby Hetrel, Brockway picked up its first win of the season, 8-1, over visiting Smethport.

Hertel went seven innings allowing one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out five.

Stephanie Stage drove in a pair of runs for the Lady Rovers while Danielle Wood scored two while going 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. Amanda Decker was also 1-for-2 with two walks, a run scored, and an RBI.

Charity Lapp was 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI for Smethport.

            

Ashley Day took the loss going one innings allowing four earned runs on a hit and five walks. Tylar Colley pitched five innings allowing four runs, two earned, on two hits and 12 walks while striking out two.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 21, CLARION 2, 3 INNINGS

DUBOIS, Pa. – Using a 12-run second inning, DuBois Central Catholic rolled past Clarion, 21-2, in three innings in a game that saw the Lady Cats as the home team at Heindl Field in DuBois.

Emma Suplizio and Kayley Risser each went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored, and four RBIs to lead the unbeaten Lady Cardinals, while Lauren Davidson scored four runs while going 1-for-1 with three walks and an RBI.

Jessy Frank was also 2-for-2 with a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored, and KXX Franklin was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, and two RBIs in the win.

Kylee Beers went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for Clarion, while Jordan Best was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored and Noel Anthony was 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Morgan Tyler got the win pitching three innings allowing two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out six.

Payton Simko took the loss going 1 ⅔ innings allowing 15 runs, just four earned, on 10 hits and four walks while striking out two. Anthony pitched 1 ⅓ innings allowing six earned runs on six hits and two walks.

COUDERSPORT 17, PORT ALLEGANY 0, 3 INNINGS

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Sierra Myers drove in six runs to help Couderspor roll past visiting Port Allegany, 17-0, in three innings.

Myers was 3-for-4 and also scored twice.

Ryelle Black added a 3-for-3 day with a double, a run scored, and three RBIs with Savannah Myers going 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and three RBIs.

Also for the Lady Falcons, Emma Saulter was 2-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored, Madyson Dubots-Angood was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored, and Makenzie Gentzyel walked twice and scored three times.

Saulter also tossed a three-inning perfect game striking out all nine batters she faced on just 39 pitches, 30 of them strikes.

Cayle Lloyd took the loss going 2 ⅔ innings allowing 17 runs, 12 earned, on 12 hits, six walks, and two hit batters. She struck out two.

CURWENSVILLE 17, NORTH STAR 0, 5 INNINGS; CURWENSVILLE 16, NORTH STAR 0, 3 INNINGS

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Outscoring visiting North Star 33-0 on the day, Curwensville swept a doubleheader from the visiting Cougars by scores of 17-0 in five innings and 16-0 in three innings.

In the 17-0 victory, the top three batters in the order – Taylor Luzier, Addison Butler, and Joslynne Freyer combined for seven RBIs and seven runs scored despite getting just two hits, both from Freyer.

Luzier walked three times, drove in two runs, and scored three times, Butler walked once, drove in two and scored three, and Freyer was 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs.

Also for the Lady Tide, MacKenzie Walk went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored, Natalie Wischuck was 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored, and Maddison Butler walked, drove in three, and scored twice.

Kayley Brant and Sarah Hostetler each had hits for North Star.

Freyer got the win going five innings allowing two hits while hitting a batter and striking out eight.

Kyra Turner took the loss allowing 17 runs, 10 earned, on seven hits, 10 walks, and three hit batters while striking out 1 in five innings.

In the 16-0 victory, Teagan Harzinski went deep for Curwensville while going 1-for-1 with two walks, three runs scored, and two RBIs.

Luzier added a double while going 2-for-3 with an RBI, and two runs scored, Wall was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and three runs scored, Shyanne Rudy was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and a run scored, Wischuck was 1-for-1 with a walk, a run scored, and three RBIs, Rylee Wiggins was 1-for-2 with a run scored, and four RBIs, and Marlee Gasper scored three times.

Emma Albright had the lone hit for North Star.

Freyer again got the win going three innings allowing the one hit while walking two and striking out eight.

Turner took the loss pitching two innings giving up 16 runs, just one earned, on 10 hits and five walks.

LAUREL 13, MONITEAU 0

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Grace Kissick three a three-hitter with one walk and 15 strikeouts, as visiting Laurel beat Moniteau, 13-0, in seven innings.

Abbie Miles drove in three runs for the Spartans while going 1-for-1 with a double and a walk. Grace Zeppelin was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs, and Addie Deal was 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Emily Staab was 2-for-3 for Moniteau.

Emma Covert took the loss going five innings allowing nine runs, five earned, on six hits, seven walks, and a hit batter while striking out five. Mariska Shunk pitched two innings allowing four earned runs on four hits, three walks, and two hit batters while striking out two.
