Q&A

Q: How did you get involved in playing sports?
A: I got involved in sports at a very young age because my siblings played a lot of sports which led to me playing them when I was little.

Q: What is the most enjoyable thing you have ever had happen to you on an athletic field?
A: Probably when we won in the state semifinal in baseball to advance to the state Championship this past season.

Q: If you could go to any event (it doesn’t have to be a sporting event) in the world, what would it be and why? *
A: I would probably say the NCAA football National Championship. I love football and I believe it would be very cool to watch two of the country’s top teams play each other.

Q: What teacher has had the most impact on you in school? Why?
A: Mr. Rice has had the most impact on me in school. Not only is he a great teacher, but he also takes a great interest in the personal lives of his students. Oftentimes before class we will discuss the sporting events of the previous days and he really listens and cares about what we say. Mr. Rice cares about his students not only within his classroom, but outside of it as well, and to me that is very cool.

Q: Do you have any superstitions in any of the sports you play?
A: I wouldn’t say I have any superstitions, but more of a routine. I try to do the same stretches, drills, visualizations, etc. before every game. I believe doing this helps lead to my success.

Q: You have one day where you can do anything your heart desires. Cost is not a factor. What would it be?
A: I wouldn’t do anything too crazy. I would wake up, workout, attend a Pitt football game, and then last but not least, I would go to a very nice restaurant with my family and friends and get a very good meal.

Q: If you could go back in time, where would you go and why?
A: I would go back to the 80’s. I like the idea that back then there was less technology but there was still basic technology to accomplish daily tasks. I feel like the music, sports, and entertainment in general was just as good if not better back then. I also really like the idea of people being able to just talk and enjoy time with each other instead of being on their phones all the time.

Q: Is there anything you wish we would have asked you? If so, what is the question/answer?
A: Yes, I wish you would have asked me about my academics. Often times student-athletes are seen as just athletes and not so much students. I feel academics should get just as much attention as athletics. I put lots of effort into my education and I pride myself on getting good grades and achieving high honors.
