WARREN, Pa. – The YDL Sports Network is pleased to announce that it will be broadcasting the Clarion County Special Olympics Basketball Championship Friday, June 9.
The Clarion County Special Olympics basketball team was supposed to be competing in the state championship in State College, Pa., this weekend but the event was canceled because of air quality concerns.
An effort was then undertaken to create an event for the players to still enjoy a happy ending to their great season, and an event was set up at the last minute in conjunction with the Clarion County YMCA to hold an exhibition basketball championship game at the YMCA.
The game will feature Special Olympians and community members.
“When we were asked if we would be willing to broadcast this event, we believed it definitely fits into the mission we are creating at the YDL Sports Network,” yourdailylocal, LLC co-owner Chris Rossetti said. “We are happy to be able to play a small role in making this a special night for these athletes.”
A special thanks goes out to Burford & Henry Real Estate who is sponsoring the broadcast.
The game starts at 6:30 p.m. and will be available on the YDL Sports Network and all its social media channels.
