Wyoming Valley West Forfeits Class 5A Quarterfinal Game Against Prep Due To COVID-19

ERIE, Pa. – Cathedral Prep is going to the PIAA semifinals, although perhaps not the way they intended.

Prep made an official announcement Friday morning that Wyoming Valley West had COVID-19 issues on their team and was forfeiting the Class 5A quarterfinal, scheduled for tonight at Brockway (7 p.m.).

The Ramblers advance to play either Upper Dublin or WC Rustin in the semifinals next week.

The Citizens Voice of Wilkes-Barre first reported Thursday night that Wyoming Valley West was suspending in-person learning due to a spike in cases.
