CLEARFIELD, Pa. – Clearfield’s Elle Smith achieved something few in high school soccer do – 150 career goals.
Smith accomplished the feat in an 8-0 win over Philipsburg-Osceola in late September, scoring her 150th on the third of her four goals in the game.
Two of Smith’s goals in the game came on assists from Riley Ryen, while the other two were unassisted.
Those games became the norm for Smith over the course of her career, as she finished her four years with the Bison with 180 career goals – 37 each as both a freshman and a sophomore, 48 as a junior and 58 as a senior.
Smith also had 28 assists this past season and finished with 73 for her high school career.
Clearfield advanced to the PIAA quarterfinals in 2022, beating Central in the first round, 7-0, before falling to eventual PIAA runner-up General McLane, 3-0 in the quarterfinals.
