Soft: Strong Day in the Circle by Rhinehart Helps O-E Top Redbank; Eckels Strong Again for St. Marys; Shunk Pitches Well for Moniteau powered by N. Washington Rodeo

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – A strong performance in the circle from Kate Rhinehart helped Otto-Eldred edge visiting Redbank Valley, 3-2.

Rhinehart went seven innings allowing two unearned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out nine.

Kyla Andreano drove in a pair of runs for the Lady Terrors going 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored, while Rayel Hakes also had an RBI going 1-for-2 with a walk

Braylee Yeany was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for Redbank Valley.

                  

Mackenzie Foringer took the loss allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out eight.

MONITEAU 13, A-C VALLEY/UNION 0, 5 INNINGS

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Mariska Shunk tossed a one-hit shutout and Addy Williams drove in four runs, as Moniteau defeated visiting A-C Valley/Union, 13-0 in five innings.

Shunk went five innings and struck out five.

Williams was 1-for-3 with a walk.

                          

Taylor Grace also had a pair of RBIs for the Lady Warriors going 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored, while Halle Beatty had a pair of hits going 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Rylan Strauser had the lone hit for A-C Valley/Union while Emerson Stevens took the loss going 3 ⅔ innings allowing 12 runs, 10 earned, on eight hits, seven walks, and two hit batters. She struck out three.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 13, BRADFORD 3, 5 INNINGS

BRADFORD, Pa. – Getting a pair of RBIs from five different players, Elk County Catholic bounced back from Monday’s loss to St. Marys to 10-run homestanding Bradford, 13-3, in five innings.

Bailey Thorwart and Emily Mourer led the 15-hit attack for the Lady Crusaders with three hits apiece.

               

Thorwart homered and was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Mourer had a pair of doubles going 3-for-3 with two RBIs.

Also driving in a pair of runs each were Mackenzie Bille (2-for-2, BB, R), Sarah Hasselman (1-for-2, 2 BB, 1 R), and Lucy Klawuhn (2-for-4, 1 R).

Mourier got the win going three innings allowing three runs, two earned, on two hits and a walk while striking out five. Bille pitched two scoreless innings of relief allowing three walks while striking out one.

Kalie Dixon led Bradford going 2-for-2 with a home run, a double, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Dixon took the loss allowing 13 runs, five earned, on 15 hits and five walks.

DUBOIS 8, BROOKVILLE 1

DUBOIS, Pa. – In a home game for Brookville at Heindl Field in DuBois, “visiting” DuBois got a pair of RBIs each from Audrey Hale and Jordan McGranor on its way to an 8-1 win over the Lady Raiders.

Hale was 2-for-4 while McGranor was 2-for-2.

Also for the Lady Beavers, Morgan Pasternak went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Lynx Lander was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

            

Bree Weible got the win going seven innings allowing one unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Aubre Eble was 2-for-3 for Brookville while Megan McKinney went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

ST. MARYS 11, CENTRAL CLARION 0, 5 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Avery Eckels tossed her second consecutive shutout, as St. Marys beat visiting Central Clarion, 11-0, in five innings.

Eckels allowed just one hit and struck out seven needing just 52 pitches to complete five innings, 43 of them strikes. She faced the minimum after a caught stealing erased the Wildcat base runner.

Kelsie Fledderman hit a home run for the Lady Dutch going 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored, and three RBIs.

Also for St. Marys, Zoe Romanic and Molly Hanslovan each doubled with Romanic going 2-for-2i what a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI, and Hanslovan going 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.

Kaylen Eozzo added three RBIs in the win going 1-for-2 with a run scored, while Eckels helped herself by going 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.

Emileigh Mahle was 1-for-2 for Clarion.

Jenna Dunn took the loss allowing 11 runs, six earned, on 10 hits and five walks while striking out one in four innings in the circle.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 20, KANE 0, 4 INNINGS

KANE, Pa. – DuBois Central Catholic ran its shutout streak to 16 straight innings to start the season, as Melia Mitskavich tossed four shutout innings in a 20-0, four-inning victory at Kane.

Mitskavich gave up one hit while walking a batter and striking out seven.

She helped herself with a pair of doubles going 3-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored, and three RBIs.

Lydia Morgan hit a home run for the Lady Cardinals and was 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and four RBIs, while Kali Franklin also had a pair of doubles going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Kierra Foster also got into the act offensively for DCC going 1-for-1 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, while Lauren Davidson was 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and three RBIs. Jessy Frank scored three times and was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks.

Leah Tigani had the Kane hit but was the losing pitcher going two innings allowing six runs, five earned, on five hits, three walks, and a hit batter.

FOREST AREA 17, JOHNSONBURG 0, 6 INNINGS

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Jayden Colvin hit an inside-the-park home run and drove in four runs to lead Forest Area to a 17-0, six-inning road win over Johnsonburg.

Colvin was 1-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored.

Faith Dietrich added a pair of doubles for the Fires going 4-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored, and two RBIs, while Akeela Greenawalt, Alexis Oswald, and Tara Brown each added a double of their own.

Greenawalt was 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI, Oswald went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, and Brown was 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.

Anna Stitt added a pair of RBIs going 1-for-4 with two runs scored, while Brooke Felletti was 1-for-3 with two walks, three runs scored, and two RBIs.

Peighton Trout got the win going 4 ⅓ innings in relief of Mackenzie Mellon. She allowed a hit while hitting a batter and striking out four.

Mellon went 1 ⅔ innings giving up two hits and a walk while striking out two.

Zoey Grunthaner was 2-for-3 for Johnsonburg with a double.

Dana Beimel took the loss going three innings allowing seven runs, five earned, on three hits, six walks, and a hit batter. She struck out one.

NORTHERN POTTER 16, OSWAYO VALLEY 1, 3 INNINGS

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Getting three RBIs apiece from Reagan Slawson, Kayla Hyde, and Zoe White, visiting Northern Potter rolled to a 16-1, three-inning victory over Oswayo Valley.

Slawson was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, Hyde was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored, and White was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Emma Haynes and Taylor Knowles each added two RBIs for the Lady Panthers with Haynes going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and Knowles going 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, and a run scored.

Hyde got the win pitching three innings allowing an unearned run on three hits and a hit batter while striking out two.

Brooke George was 1-for-1 with a double and a run scored for Oswayo Valley.

Shayden Mesler took the loss going three innings allowing 16 runs, five earned, on 15 hits and three walks while striking out three.

GALETON 20, PORT ALLEGANY 8, 5 INNINGS

GALETON, Pa. – Using 16 walks and six hit batters, Galeton beat visiting Port Allegany, 20-8 in five innings.

Eve Cole, Lynlee Basile, and Audrianna Calderson each had three RBIs for the Lady Tigers.

Brielle Lehman got the win going three innings allowing five unearned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out two.

Mady Errick was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored for Port Allegany while Peyton Gordon went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Alyssa Tanner took the loss going three innings allowing 16 runs, 14 earned, on five hits, 13 walks, and five hit batters while striking out eight.

HUNTINGDON 8, CLEARFIELD 5

HYDE, Pa. – Breaking open a one-run game with a three-spot in the top of the sixth, Huntingdon beat Clearfield, 8-5.

Huntingdon led 4-3 going to the sixth but pushed the advantage to 7-3 before Clearfield scored twice in the bottom of the inning.

Leah Beck hit a home run for Bearcats while going 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI.

Alivia Nicklow was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs in the win with Alivia Edwards going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Charlotte Kyle going 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Nicklow got the win going seven innings allowing five runs, two earned, on six hits and six walks while striking out 15.

Ruby Singleton had a big day at the plate for Clearfield going 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Aevril Hayward also drove in two for the Lady Bison going 1-for-2 with two walks.

Joelle Henry took the loss allowing eight runs, four earned, on 11 hits and three walks in 6 ⅓ innings of work. She struck out six.
