Soft: Brookville Holds off Jburg; Punxsy tops Marion Center; Moniteau Walks Off Forest Area powered by N. Washington Rodeo

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Jumping out to a 5-0 lead after 2 ½ innings, Brookville held off homestanding Johnsonburg, 6-4.

Julie Greeley and Lily Plyer were each 2-for-3 for the Lady Raiders with Greeley also walking and scoring a run and Plyer also walking and driving in a run.

Kerstyn Davie also had a walk and two RBIs for Brookville.

Alyssa Tollini got the win going seven innings allowing four runs, one earned, on six hits while striking out seven.

                  

Natalie Dunworth was 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored for Johnsonburg while Zoey Grunthaner went 2-for-3 with a triple, a run scored, and an RBI.

Dana Beimel took the loss going seven innings allowing six runs, four earned, on six hits, six walks, and a hit batter. She struck out nine.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 5, MARION CENTER 2

MARION CENTER, Pa. – Brinley Hallman and Olivia Toven combined to throw a three-hitter as visiting Punxsutawney beat Marion Center, 5-2.

Toven got the win in relief of Hallman going three scoreless, hitless innings. She walked four and struck out one.

                          

Hallman went the first four innings allowing two unearned runs on three hits and four walks while striking out four.

The game was tied at two until the sixth when Punxsutawney took the lead on a Laci Poole groundout. The Lady Chucks then added two insurance runs in the seventh on an Avery Powell RBI single and a Ciara Toven RBI base hit.

Brooke Young had a pair of RBIs for Punxsy going 1-for-2 while Brynn Hergert scored twice and was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.

Powell was also 2-for-4 with a run scored in the win, and Ciara Toven was 2-for-4 with the RBI.

Mya Lipsie was 1-for-4 with two RBIs for Marion Center.

               

Cheyenne Silvis took the loss going seven innings allowing five runs, four earned, on seven hits, a walk, and a hit batter while striking out three.

MONITEAU 13, FOREST AREA 12

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – After blowing an eight-run lead going to the sixth inning, Moniteau prevailed over visiting Forest Area, 13-12, when Addy Williams delivered a one-out single in the bottom of the seventh.

The Lady Warriors led 12-4 going to the sixth before Forest Area scored four in the sixth to cut the deficit in half.

The Fires then burned Monitea in the top of the seventh for four more runs tying the game at 12 on a Faith Dietrich grand slam with two outs.

But in the bottom of the inning, Ashely Huffman singled leading off the inning and moved to second on a Mariska Shunk ground out before Williams singled to right on a 1-0 pitch.

Emily Staab had a huge day at the plate for Monitea going 4-for-4 with four doubles, two runs scored, and three RBIs.

Williams also drove in three going 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored, while Lily Staab had four RBIs and was 2–for-3 with two runs scored. Huffman also went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.

Lexi McGhee got the win going two innings allowing eight runs, four earned, on seven hits and two walks while striking out two.

            

Graysen Rottman started and went five innings allowing four runs, one earned, on four hits and six walks while striking out two.

Dietrich had a big day for Forest Area going 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, a walk, two runs scored, and six RBIs.

Akeela Greenawalt was also 1-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs for the Fires while Brooke Feleetti scored twice while going 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.

Alexis Oswald was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and an RBI in the loss.

Izzy Flick took the loss going 6 ⅓ innings allowing 13 runs, eight earned, on 13 hits, four walks, and two hit batters. She struck out six.

NORTHERN POTTER 10, COUDERSPORT 6

ULYSSES, Pa. – Taylor Knowles drove in three runs to Northern Potter to a 10-6 win over visiting Coudersport.

Kyla Hyde walked three times while going 1-for-2 with three runs scored for the Lady Panthers, while Zoe White went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Emma Haynes was 1-for-4 with two runs scored.

Reagan Slawson also went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Hyde got the win going 4 ⅔ inning allowing six earned runs on five hits, three walks, and four hits batters. She struck out seven.

Sierra Myers was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs for Coudersport while Marah Fowler was 1-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.

Hannah Fleniken took the loss going six innings allowing 10 runs, seven earned, on six hits, 13 walks, and three hit batters. She struck out eight.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 12, GLENDALE 1, 6 INNINGS

FLINTON, Pa. – Kaylee Risser hit a pair of home runs and Lydia Morgan hit a dinger to lead DuBois Central Catholic to a 12-1, six-inning win at Glendale.

Riser was 2-for-2 with two walks, four runs scored, and three RBIs while Morgan was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs.

Rylee Kulbatsky added a double while going 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Melia Mitskavich also doubled while going 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI.

Lauren Davidson added a pair of runs scored for the Lady Cardinals and was 1-for-3 with a walk.

Kulbatsky got the win going five innings allowing one earned run on three hits and a walk while striking out nine.

Mitskavich went an inning striking out three.

Jayden Fry hit a home run for Glendale going 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.

Hannah Simmers took the loss going six innings allowing 12 runs, nine earned, on eight hits and seven walks while striking out four.

A-C VALLEY/UNION 15, BROCKWAY 5, 5 INNINGS

BROCKWAY, Pa. – A pair of five-run innings helped visiting A-C Valley/Union to a 15-5, five-inning win over Brockway.

Bella Ielase hit a home run for the Falcon Knights while Ava Snyder had a pair of doubles.

Ielase was 1-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs.

Snyder went 3-for-5 with two runs scored.

Kya Wetzel was also 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, two runs scored, and two RBIs, and Rylan Strauser was 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, a run scored, and an RBI.

Emerson Stevens got the win allowing five runs, one earned, on four hits and two walks while striking out three in five innings.

Meeca Smith went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for Brockway while Josie Orinko went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Sophia Schmader was also 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, and Sierra Freemer was 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.

Bailee Carberry took the loss going four innings allowing 13 runs, four earned, on seven hits, five hits, and a hit batter while striking out two.

KANE 19, PORT ALLEGANY 4, 3 INNINGS

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – May Smith drove in four runs to help Kane to a 19-4, three-inning win at Port Allegany.

Smith eas 2-for-2 with a double and three runs scored.

Macy Bell also went 1-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, and three RBIs for the Lady Wolves, while Sara Ely was 1-for-1 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Also for Kane, Kylie Iak was 1-for-3 with three runs scored.

Leah Tigani got the win going two innings allowing three runs, two earned, on one hit and four walks while striking out two.

Brynn Evens was 1-for-2 with a walk for Port Allegany.

Alyssa Tanner took the loss going 2 ⅓ innings allowing 17 runs, 10 earned, on four hits, 13 walks, and five hit batters while striking out two.

OTTO-ELDRED 29, CAMERON COUNTY 0, 3 INNINGS

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Otto-Eldred scored 29 runs while looking at 155 pitches in two innings on its way to a 29-0, three-inning win over visiting Cameron County.

The Lady Terrors had 21 hits, walked 12 times, and were hit by a pitch.

Kate Rhinehart hit a home run for Otto-Eldred while Rayel Hakes had three doubles and Kyla Andreano and Carrie Drummond each added a double.

Rhinehart was 4-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored, and four RBIs, while Hakes was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

Ayla VanScoter went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored, and Drummond was 2-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Also for Otto-Eldred, Jessi Hall was 4-for-5 with two runs scored and five RBIs, and Andreano was 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Hakes got the win throwing a three-inning no-hitter. She struck out eight.

Elyse Umble took the loss going 1 ⅓ innings allowing 16 runs, 11 earned, on 12 hits, seven walks, and a hit batter.
