Base: Ramblers Win Showdown With Meadville; Saegertown’s Bats Stay Hot Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

ERIE, Pa. – In a battle between two of the top teams in Region 5, Jason Fultz Jr. was 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBIs and also dazzled on the mound as Cathedral Prep beat Meadville, 5-1.

The Ramblers scored three runs in the first inning en route to the win.

Andrew Costello was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored for the Ramblers, while Justice Laird was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Fultz Jr. tossed six innings and allowed just one hit, striking out 14 and walking one.

Jacoby Thompson had an RBI single for Meadville. A.J. Feleppa took the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits in five innings, striking out four and walking one.

                  

SAEGERTOWN 15, EISENHOWER 5, 5 innings

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Saegertown scored 12 runs in the fourth inning of a 15-5, 5-inning win over Eisenhower.

Blake Leslie led a strong offensive attack for Saegertown with three RBIs, while Wyatt Burchill was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, and two RBIs, Damarcus Manning 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and three runs scored, William Shaffer 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs, Levi Gardner 1-for-1 with two RBIs and Torre Mosbacher 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Everett Gardner got the win, allowing two earned runs in two innings on three hits, striking out one.

Cole Kellogg, Camron Jakubczak and Shawn Pascuzzi had one RBI each for Eisenhower.

                          

MCDOWELL 7, GENERAL MCLANE 3

EDINBORO, Pa. – McDowell built a 6-0 lead after four innings on its way to a 7-3 win over General McLAne.

Evan Stranko was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Connor Cross was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Nick Hamilton 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Stranko got the complete game win, allowing three runs on six hits.

Kellen Chelton hit a 3-run home run in the seventh inning for General McLane.

               

Chelton took the loss, allowing six runs in 3 ⅓ innings.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 5, ROCKY GROVE 4, 10 innings

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Matthew Ross’ RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted Cambridge Springs to a 5-4 win over Rocky Grove.

Cambridge Springs led 4-2 going to the seventh, but Rocky Grove plated a pair of runs in the seventh on a passed ball and a bases-loaded walk drawn by Aaron Wetjen.

Owen Riley was 4-for-6 for Cambridge Springs with two runs scored, while Tristen Mazzadra hit two doubles and Josh Gorton was 3-for-5 with two runs.

Riley got the win in relief, going three shutout innings, allowing two hits while striking out two and walking one.

Wetjen had the lone RBI of the game for Rocky Grove.

FRANKLIN 10, CRANBERRY 0, 5 innings

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Alex Wible was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, including a 2-run home run as Franklin beat Cranberry, 10-0 in five innings.

            

Franklin scored seven runs in the first two innings, scoring their 10 runs on just six hits while taking advantage of 12 walks issued by Cranberry pitching.

Evan Turner was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Franklin, while Drew Kockler was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs.

Turner got the win, allowing one hit in four innings, striking out eight and walking two.

Talon Rex had the lone hit for Cranberry.

Landon Burgdorfer took the loss, allowing seven runs in two innings on five hits, striking out two and walking five.

COCHRANTON 5, IROQUOIS 4

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Cochranton scored four runs in the third inning of a 5-4 win over Iroquois.

Blake Foulk, Ben Field, Trent Hoban and Andrew Albert had one RBI each for Cochranton.

Albert went five innings to get the win, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out eight and walking two.

Hunter Alderson blasted a solo home run for Iroquois, while Cole Bennett and Anthony Theiss also drove in one run each for the Braves.

Hunter Alderson took the loss, allowing five runs (four earned) in five innings, striking out four, allowing six hits and walking seven.

OIL CITY 10, SHARON 8

OIL CITY, Pa. – Trailing 8-7, Oil City scored three runs in the sixth inning to rally for a 10-8 win over Sharon.

Jake Dunkle drew a bases loaded walk and Wil McMahon had the go-ahead sacrifice fly.

Charlie Motter hit a 2-run home run for the Oilers, while Casey Rybak was 2-for-r with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Motter got the win, tossing three shutout innings on two hits, striking out one.

SENECA 6, NORTH EAST 5

NORTH EAST, Pa. – Seneca scored five runs in the fourth inning of a 6-5 win over North East.

Kendall Yosten belted a solo home run for Seneca, while GT Rupp drove in a pair of runs and Michael Peterson was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Yosten picked up the win, allowing five runs (two earned) in 6 ⅔ innings, scattering 12 hits and striking out six.

Jacob Babo was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for North East.

GREENVILLE 13, WEST MIDDLESEX 0

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Jack Strausser fired a 5-inning no-hitter as Greenville beat West Middlesex, 13-0 in five innings.

Strausser struck out five and walked six.

Jake Csonka had three hits, including a solo homer for Greenville.

Soren Hedderick was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored, Nick Solderich 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, Jack Strausser 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Noah Philson 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Brandon Stubert 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

MAPLEWOOD 14, YOUNGSVILLE 6

GUYS MILLS, Pa. – Maplewood scored six runs in the third inning and, leading 7-5, scored seven in the sixth to pull away for a 14-6 win over Youngsville.

Levi Willison had a big day at the plate for Maplewood, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs, while Landyn Reynolds was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Paul Hirosky 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Reynolds got the win, allowing three runs (two earned) in four innings on two hits, striking out three and walking six.

Nathan Lucks hit a 2-run home run for Youngsville, while Talon Mesel was 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

Lucks took the loss, allowing seven runs (four earned) in four innings on five hits, striking out four.

SHARPSVILLE 10, REYNOLDS 2

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. – Caullin Summers and Dalton Byerly drove in two runs each to help Sharpsville to a 10-2 win over Reynolds.

Travis Wilding got the win, allowing two runs (one earned) in six innings on three hits, striking out two and walking four.

Carter Dejulia was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, while David Moyer was also 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Ryan Shardy took the loss, allowing seven runs on 10 hits in four innings, striking out one.
