Sharon Blanks Neshannock; Reynolds, Hickory Notch Big Wins

SHARON, Pa. – Sharon limited Neshannock to 159 yards of total offense in a 26-0 victory in its opener.

Mister Ham was 9-of-13 for 109 yards and two touchdowns passing and also rushed for 93 yards for the Tigers.

The Tigers struck in the first quarter on an Ike Friday 3-yard run, and the Tigers scored a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to extend the lead to 20-0 at halftime.

Ham connected with Bryson Roberson on a 26-yard touchdowns pass in the second quarter, and Bishop Root had a pick six with 6:30 to go in the quarter.

The 20-0 lead was extended in the third quarter when Ham connected with Cortez Nixon on a 24-yard touchdown.

            

Nixon added 63 yards on the ground for the Tigers.

REYNOLDS 44, UNION CITY 6

UNION CITY, Pa. – Gabe Minjarez scored three touchdowns as the young Reynolds Raiders earned a 44-6 win over Union City.

The Raiders, the three-time defending D10 1A champions, got on the board in the second quarter on Minjarez’s 8-yard touchdown run at the 9:59 mark.

The Raiders scored three more times in the second quarter. Xavier Zachrich scored on a 1-yard touchdown run, which was followed by a Gavin Alabran pick six and another touchdown run, this one from three yards, from Minjarez.

                          

Leading 32-0 at halftime, Alabran scored again on a 20-yard touchdown to Kevyn Malgieri in the third quarter, and Minjarez capped his night with his third touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Skyler Olmstead scored on the final play of the game on a 3-yard touchdown rush for Union City.

HICKORY 45, HARBOR CREEK 7

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Zander Tellesz threw for 212 yards and four touchdowns as Hickory beat Harbor Creek, 45-7.

The Hornets built a 38-0 halftime lead en route to the win, as freshman Kelvin Morrison also had 100 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Telez got the scoring going with a 32-yard touchdown pass to Tylon Cousin, as the Hornets scored three first-quarter touchdowns.

Morrison followed on the next possession with a 65-yard scoring burst, and Telez scored just over two minutes later on an 8-yard touchdown run.

The offensive onslaught continued in the second quarter. Lukas Jones connected on a 31-yard field goal, which was followed by Telez’s second touchdown pass of the half to Cousin, this one a 20-yarder.

Telez capped his brilliant first half with an 80-yard scoring strike to Timmy Krivosh.

His final touchdown pass came in the third quarter, a 25-yarder to William Acrie.

                        

TyShawn Jones scored on a 34-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for Harbor Creek.
