Sept. 14, 2020 District 9/10 Boys’ And Girls’ Soccer Recaps

   

ULYSSES, Pa. – Gavin McGee recorded a hat-trick as visiting Bradford rolled to a 13-1 victory against Northern Potter on Monday.

Ethan Tate, Andrew Kane and Andy Mangold recorded two goals each for the young Owls, while Calyb Heist, Brady Ervin, Cameron Austin and Lucas Johnson tallied one each.

Ryan Langworthy scored on a penalty kick for Northern Potter. Alex Rimer (3 saves) and Tristan Dragoone (1 save) split the keeper duties for the Owls, while Pat Lehman had 16 stops for the Panthers.

ST. MARYS 3, PORT ALLEGANY 1

            

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Matt Palmer, Dominick Aiello and Vini Nunez all found the back of the net for St. Marys in a 3-1 win at Port Allegany.

Ricky Phillips notched the lone goal for the Gators.

Ty Guilds played strong in net for Port Allegany with 20 saves, while Jonathan Chamberlain had four stops for the Dutch.

KARNS CITY 5, CLARION-LIMESTONE 1

STRATTINVILLE, Pa. – Karns City picked up a 5-1 win at C-L.

                          

Bailee Verdill had an unassisted goal for C-L.

BROCKWAY 11, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 0

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Noah Bash recorded a hat trick and Nolan Swanson and Dylan Antonuccio had two each to send Brockway to an 11-0 victory over DCC.

Eric Young, Jared Marchiori, Ryan Lin and Chase Azzato also found the back of the net for the Rovers. Marchiori notched four assists in the victory, while Dom Inzana, Garrett Park, Bach and Dylan Coder added one each.

BROOKVILLE 13, FOREST AREA 0 

BROOKVILLE, Pa. — Nine different players found the net led by Steven Plyler’s three goals in the game’s first 13 minutes as Brookville routed visiting Forest Area, 13-0.

All three of Plyler’s goals were assisted by Logan Oakes, who made it 4-0 less than 22 minutes into the game with a goal off a Plyler assist.

Zakk Wolfe converted on a penalty kick to start the game’s scoring while Garner McMaster and Justin Vander kelen added unassisted goals, and Wolfe set up Ryan Wonderling for an 8-0 halftime lead.

Vincent Doan and backup Brad Fiscus scored the first two goals. Backup Alex Reynolds assisted on the Fiscus goal and scored two goals of his own with the first off a pass from Ryan Kornbau. Fiscus scored his second goal to close the scoring.

GIRLS

FRANKLIN 2, MAPLEWOOD 1, OT

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Rylee Mattocks netted the game-winning goal in overtime off an assist from Natalie Doty to lift Franklin to a dramatic overtime win over Maplewood.

Hailey Yard scored the first goal of the game to give Franklin the lead in the first half, but Maplewood’s Natalie Kurt tied the game in the second half to send it to overtime.

DUBOIS 3, CLEARFIELD 2

         

DUBOIS, Pa. – Rachel Sickeri recorded a hat trick, with two of her three goals coming in the second half, to lift DuBois to a hard-fought 3-2 win over Clearfield.

Sickeri got the Beavers on the board early, but Emma Hipps tied the game in the 15th minute.

Sickeri’s first goal of the second half came with just over 12 minutes remaining to break the tie, and she scored again off a direct kick in the 75 minute to give DuBois some breathing room.

Lydia Brown scored off an assist from Hipps with just 35 seconds left for Clearfield.

Kara Tilson stopped 11 shots for DuBois and Cayleigh Walker six for Clearfield.

KARNS CITY 9, CLARION 2

CLARION, Pa. – McKenna Martin blistered the net for four goals and Emma Dailey had three to send Karns CIty to a 9-2 road win over Clarion.

Ally Fennell and Cece Morrow had the other goals for the Gremlins, while Dailey (4), Jill Morrow, Martin, Avah Burke and Addy Christie notched assists.

Alexis Coull and Evelyn Lerch scored for Clarion.

REDBANK VALLEY 2, KEYSTONE 0

KNOX, Pa. – Austin Kirkpatrick scored on an assist from Alaina Hook at the 32-minute mark, which proved to be all Redbank Valley needed in a 2-0 win at Keystone.

Karissa Reichard scored unassisted 10 minutes into the second half to cap the scoring.

VILLA 6, HARBOR CREEK 3

ERIE, Pa. – Mackenzie Fletcher and Ella Raimondi scored two goals each to lead Villa past Harbor Creek.

Morgan Harrington also found the back of the net for the Victors.
