Schmidt Posts Double-Double as Cambridge Springs Bests Seneca; Port, NoPo, Cameron County Claim NTL Victories

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Parker Schmidt had a big game with 35 points to lead Cambridge Springs to a 70-60 win over Seneca.v

Schmidt made 11 shots from the floor and was 13-of-20 from the free throw line. Owen Riley had 18 points for Cambridge Springs, while Tristan Mazzadra added nine.

In a game that featured 66 combined free throw attempts, Cambridge Springs was 21-of-37 from the line and Seneca was 16-of-29.

PORT ALLEGANY 47, COUDERSPORT 44

                                      

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Visiting Port Allegany held off a fourth-quarter charge by Coudersport to pick up a 47-44 NTL win.

The Gators led 37-28 going to the fourth quarter on the strength of a 23-point second quarter.

But Coudersport made it close by hitting three fourth-quarter 3-pointers, including a pair from Mason Roesser, who had three in the game.

Coudersport led 12-6 at the end of the first quarter, but Port Allegany got hot in the second quarter to take a 29-21 halftime lead.

A pair of 3-pointers from Isac Amell and a triple by Jarod Funk along with six points from Braylon Button led the second-quarter onslaught by the Gators.

                          

Nick Wilfong ended up leading a balanced Port Allegany offense with 12 points with Amell and Button each scoring 11. Funk chipped in eight points.

Roessner had a game-high 16 points while adding five steals and four rebounds for Coudersport. Micah Batson added 13 points and Dylan Howard contributed 12. Kevin Sherry grabbed 10 rebounds and scored three points for the Falcons.

NORTHERN POTTER 54, SMETHPORT 41

ULYESSES, Pa. – Leading wire-to-wire, Northern Potter picked up a 54-41 home NTL win over Smethport.

Ethan Furher had a double-double for the Panthers with 16 points and 11 rebounds while Malachai Lewis added 11 points and eight boards.

Ty Daniels chipped in nine points in the win, and Noah Cady scored eight points.

Carson Dunn had 14 points for Smethport, Brentton McDowell added nine, and Owen Rounsville chipped in with eight.

CAMERON COUNTY 62, AUSTIN 21

AUSTIN, Pa. – Josh Smith scored 19 points, all in the first half, in a 62-21 Cameron County NTL road win over Austin.

Jake Narby drilled four first-half 3-pointers on his way to 12 points for the Red Raiders, and Ryan Shaffer scored nine of his 11 points in the third quarter.

                                   

Dawson Hooftallen had 10 points, eight rebounds, and three steals for Austin.
