Rivalry Renewed: Clarion-Limestone Halts Clarion’s 64-Match KSAC Win Streak; Lady Lions Beat Rival for First Time in 17 Years

CLARION, Pa. – Clarion-Limestone put an end to Clarion’s 64-match KSAC regular-season winning streak with a 3-0 (25-18, 28-26, 25-21) win over the Lady Cats.

Jenna Dunn had eight kills and 22 digs for C-L, which handed Clarion its first KSAC loss since a 3-2 setback at A-C Valley on Sept. 19, 2017.

The numbers don’t stop there, as it’s the first time Clarion has been swept in a KSAC match since a 3-0 loss at A-C Valley on Sept. 15, 2015. It’s also the first KSAC home loss for the Lady Cats in nearly 14 years. The last time Clarion dropped a KSAC decision at home was Sept. 30, 2009, 3-2 against Redbank Valley. The C-L victory snapped a 71-game KSAC regular-season-home-win streak for the Lady Cats.

Clarion-Limestone used a big rally to take control of the match, trailing 17-5 before rallying to win the second set.

            

Kaylee Smith ran the offense for Clarion-Limestone to the tune of 23 set assists.

Maddy Greeley also had eight kills, while Hannah Beggs had six kills, Alyssa Wiant five, and Ansley Burker four. Abby Knapp-Greeley led the defense for C-L with 14 digs.

For Clarion, which played without leading hitter Hadlee Campbell, Marley Kline had 13 kills, Adi Campbell had 21 set assists and nine digs, and Natalie Durish added 10 digs.
