Reynolds Still Alive in Consolation Bracket at PIAA Wrestling; Clearfield, LeBoeuf Eliminated Powered by Luton’s Plumbing, Heating & A/C

HERSHEY, Pa. – Reynolds is the last remaining D9/10 team left standing at the PIAA wrestling championships.

                        

The Raiders, who lost their first match to Faith Christian, are still alive following consolation bracket wins over Bald Eagle Area and Burrell.

Fort LeBoeuf and Clearfield, meanwhile, both of whom advanced to the quarterfinals, went 0-2 on Friday to see their tournaments come to a close.

Reynolds beat BEA 27-25 and came back with a 39-24 win over Burrell.

In the win over Burrell, the Raiders got a pin from Vito Gentile at 160. They also got major decision victories from Waylon Waite at 121, Louie Gill at 127 and Logan Stewart at 133.

                              

Earning wins by decision for the Raiders were Angelo Lomonte at 114, Emery Johnson at 152 and Louie DeJulia at 172.

Colton Tupper also won by injury default for the Raiders at 189.

Reynolds will Montoursville on Saturday morning, with the winner to face Bishop McDevitt.

Clearfield began its day with a 35-21 loss to Bishop McDevitt to drop to the consolation bracket, where they fell to Warrior Run, 29-24.

LeBoeuf, meanwhile, lost to Chestnut Ridge, 37-36 in the quarterfinals, with CR forfeiting the last two bouts after clinching the win. The Bison then lost to Montoursville, 31-30 in the consolation bracket.

                          

In Class 3A, Cathedral Prep was bounced in the consolation bracket on Friday with a 43-14 loss to Connellsville.
