Oil City’s Knox Named Week 7 2022 District 10 Jim Kelly POW Powered by the Allegheny Grille

WARREN, Pa. – Ethen Knox was at it against for Oil City against Hollidaysburg.

The junior running back eclipsed 400 yards rushing for the fifth time this season, going for 409 yards and five touchdowns in a 38-21 victory, helping the Oilers snap their 2-game losing streak in the process.

His huge game earns him the Week 7 YDL Sports Network D9and10Sports.com District 10 Jim Kelly Football Player of the Week powered by the Allegheny Grille in Foxburg, the fourth time this season he has won the award.

Per MaxPreps, Knox is believed to be the first high school player ever to rush for 400 yards in a game five times in one season. He is now up to 2,513 yards on the season and 30 total touchdowns, averaging 9.1 yards per carry.

Joining him on the weekly honor roll are Lakeview’s Mitchell Tingley (283 yards rushing, 4 touchdowns), McDowell’s Artis Simmons (222 yards rushing, 2 touchdowns), Farrell’s Kylon Wilson (138 yards rushing, 3 touchdowns, 2 receptions, 39 yards), Eisenhower’s Shawn Pascuzzi (245 yards passing, 2 touchdowns), Cathedral Prep’s Dajoure Hollingsworth (5 total touchdowns), Sharon’s Jayveerh White (246 yards rushing, 1 touchdown), General McLane’s Dylan Sheeder (game-winning 9-yard touchdown run against Wilmington), Fairview’s Michael Gennuso (game-winning 36-yard field goal as time expired against Girard), Greenville’s Jase Herrick (4 receptions, 89 yards, 2 touchdowns; passing touchdown), Warren’s Sam Harvey (4 sacks) and Mercer’s Daemyin Mattockds (111 yards rushing, 4 touchdowns).

Jim Kelly is the Hall of Fame quarterback of the Buffalo Bills who grew up in East Brady, Pa., and went to Miami (Fla). Kelly was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002 after passing for over 45,000 yards as a pro, including two seasons in the USFL, with 320 career touchdown passes. He led the Bills to four straight AFC Titles. Kelly’s name on the award is being used with his permission.
