Oct. 8, 2022 D10 Football: Mercer Keeps Rolling With Win over Kennedy Catholic; Erie High Falls

MERCER, Pa. Daemyin Mattocks rushed for 111 yards and four touchdowns as Mercer improved to 5-2 with a 43-7 Region 1 win over Kennedy Catholic.

Ben Godfrey returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown for the Mustangs and Mattocks scored from 35 yards out on the Mustangs’ first offensive snap.

Mattocks went on to score on runs of 1, 22, and 3 yards.

Carter Addison added an 8-yard touchdown run for Mercer in the fourth quarter.

Simeir Wade accounted for Kennedy Catholic’s lone touchdown, a 6-yard run in the fourth quarter to break the shutout.

            

Wade had 145 yards on the ground for Kennedy.

ST. FRANCIS (N.Y.) 43, ERIE 7

ERIE, Pa. – Steve Otremba Jr. rushed for a pair of touchdowns and threw for another as St. Francis earned a 43-7 win over Erie.

This marks the second time St. Francis has beaten a D10 team this season, having previously knocked off Cathedral Prep, 28-26.

Otremba scored on runs of 1 and 8 yards and also threw a touchdown pass to Malik Williams.

                          

Terrance Pendergrass and Brandon Drummond added rushing touchdowns for St. Francis, while, Dylan Walker had an interception return for a touchdown.
