Oct. 13, 2020 Soccer Recaps: Clearfield girls win 10th

   

TYRONE, Pa. – Elle Smith scored a pair of goals and added an assist to help Clearfield past Tyrone, 5-1.

Amanda Hazel, Emma Hips and Lydia Brown also scored for the 10-2-1 Bison, who led 2-0 at the half.

Hipps and Riley Ryan had two assists each. Eliza Vance scored for Tyrone.

Cayleigh Walker had 11 saves for Clearfield, as did Jaylee Shuke for Tyrone.

KANE 1, RIDGWAY 0

            

KANE, Pa. – Macie Johnson scored the lone goal of the game as Kane edged Ridgway.

REDBANK VALLEY 2, BROOKVILLE 0

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Alexandra Shoemaker scored a pair of goals to send Redbank Valley past Brookville.

Shoemaker scored one in each half, with the first goal assisted by Ember Hetrick.

Gabby Dinger had the shutout in net.

BRADFORD 2, ST. MARYS 0

BRADFORD, Pa. – Gavin McGee and Andrew Kane each scored in the first half to lift Bradford past St. Marys.

Zach Williams was big in net for the Owls, stopping 18 shots in the shutout victory.

BROOKVILLE 3, REDBANK VALLEY 2

BROOKVILLE, Pa. — Zakk Wolfe’s goal off his own corner kick with 14:02 left in regulation lifted the Brookville Raiders to a 3-2 win over Redbank Valley.

Wolfe assisted on Steve Plyler’s goal that tied the score with 25:05 remaining.

In the first half, Redbank Valley’s Koltin Kline drilled a penalty kick with 29:23 remaining. Brookville tied it up when Justin Vander kelen scored off Caleb Kornbau’s assist at 16:29.

But Redbank Valley took the lead into halftime when Nolan Smith scored off a pass from Landon Pence at 15:14.

FAIRVIEW 5, NORTH EAST 1

                        

FAIRIVEW, Pa. – Drew Smith recorded a hat trick as Fairview earned a 5-1 win over North East.

Aidan Piazza scored two goals for the Tigers.

GROVE CITY 6, SHARON 2

SHARON, Pa. – Landon Haggart scored a pair of goals to help Grove City past Sharon.

Jacob Irani, Jimmy Irani and Aaron Jackson also scored for the Eagles, while John Hake added a pair of assists.

         

MERCYHURST PREP 7, CORRY 0

ERIE, Pa. – Jarrett Harry scored a pair of goals to help Mercyhurst Prep beat Corry.

Joe Burrows, Gavin Sorek, Connor Coughlin, John Kerner and Nick Torok all scored for the Lakers as well.

FORT LEBOEUF 3, IROQUOIS 2, OT

LAWRENCE PARK, Pa. – Mitch Rathburn scored all three Fort LeBoeuf goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to send the Bison past Iroquois.

A.J. Brine scored both goals for the Braves.

SLIPPERY ROCK 4, GREENVILLE 0

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Ethan Folmer scored  a pair of goals as Slippery Rock blanked Greenville.

Nick Kingerski and Liam Gallagher also scored for the winners.

Colten Callen got the shutout in net.

CATHEDRAL PREP 8, GENERAL MCLANE 1

ERIE, Pa. – Dan Harrington and Sam Louie scored two goals each as Cathedral Prep beat General McLane.

Reece Johnson, Peter Wagner, Dominic Padalino and Kaden Petruso also scored for the Ramblers.

Louie and Padalino had a pair of assists each.

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 5, COMMODORE PERRY 0

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Jayson Young scored a pair of goals as Kennedy Catholic blanked Commodore Perry.

Aidan Churlik, Dakota Tatta and Alex Carr had one each for the Golden Eagles.

Cody May had the clean sheet in net.
