Myers Girls Lead Coudersport Past Austin; Brockway Sweeps Curwensville (Sept. 20 VB Recaps)

AUSTIN, Pa. – Sierra Myers had 14 kills and eight digs to help visiting Coudersport to a 3-1 (13-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-23) win over Austin.

Savannah Myers added six kills and nine digs for the Lady Falcons.

Emily Eckert ran the offense for Coudersport with 32 set assists while adding six digs.

Isabella Rees had eight kills, eight blocks, and three aces for Austin while Ella Brewer paced the defense with 25 digs.

Jade Williams and Marah Fowler combined for 23 assists to run the Lady Panthers offense.

            

BROCKWAY 3, CURWENSVILLE 0

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Lauren Rendos had 16 kills to lead Brockway to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-17) win at Curwensville.

Sophia Schmader added three kills and four aces for the Rovers while Kalina Powell had 11 aces and eight digs.

Meeca Smith ran the Brockway offense with 21 set assists while also adding six digs.

Brooklynn Price had seven kills and an ace for Curwensville while Briah Peoples had six kills and an ace.

                          

Savannah Carfley had 15 set assists running the Lady Tide offense.

NORTHERN POTTER 3, CAMERON COUNTY 2

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Haylee Chapman and Molly Cady combined for 17 kills to lead Northern Potter to a 3-2 (25-18, 23-25, 9-25, 25-12, 15-9) win over homestanding Cameron County.

Chapman had nine kills, 13 digs, and three blocks with Cady adding eight kills and six blocks.

Kayden Brown and Kayla Hyde ran the offense for the Lady Panthers with Hyde having 14 set assists and Brown 13 set assists.

Hyde also had 10 digs and four kills and Brown chipped in six kills.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 3, ST. MARYS 0

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Tori Newton had 16 kills and four aces to help Elk County Catholic to a 3-0 (25-6, 25-12, 25-16) win over visiting St. Marys.

Reagan Bauer added nine kills and two aces for the Lady Crusaders with Lucy Klawuhn chipping in five kills and Ashlynn Schutz four kills and three aces.

                        

Kiri Emmert ran the offense for ECC with 30 set assists.

Jianna Gerg had 10 digs for St. Marys with Hannah Ritter adding eight digs.

OTTO-ELDRED 3, SMETHPORT 0

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Carrie Drummond and Kate Rhinehart both reached double digits in kills to lead Otto-Eldred to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-12) home sweep of Smethport.

Rhinehart had 11 kills, 11 digs, and six aces while Drummond had a match-high 16 kills to go with 14 digs, four aces, and a block.

         

Jessi Hall had eight digs and two aces for the Lady Terrors.

Anna Schuessler ran the Otto-Eldred offense with 18 set assists.

Elizabeth Hungiville paced Smethport with seven kills and four digs.

Karlee Tanner added 14 digs, four aces, and two kills for the Lady Hubbers while Madison Swanson had 11 digs and two aces, and Madi Faes had nine set assists, two kills, three digs, and two aces.

CLEARFIELD 3, HUNTINGDON 1

HYDE, Pa. – Natalie Rowles had eight kills to help homestanding Clearfield to a 3-1 (26-24, 20-25, 25-23, 25-16) win over Huntingdon.

Sam Campolong added five kills and Abby Riz seven kills for the Lady Bison.

Hannah Glunt ran the offense for Clearfield with 23 set assists while adding four kills.

EISENHOWER 3, IROQUOIS 2

ERIE, Pa. – Visiting Eisenhower rallied past Iroquois, 3-2 (19-25, 25-22, 15-25, 25-17, 15-6) behind seven kills and 11 blocks with Caroline Smyth.

Marissa Gourley added 10 blocks and Emilie Jones 10 kills for the Knights.

MERCER 3, OIL CITY 0

OIL CITY, Pa. – Visiting Mercer swept Oil City, 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-14).

Mercer stats weren’t available but Oil City got five kills from Adrianna Cochran and four kills apiece from Nicki Petro and Shayla Hanlon.

Petro also had two blocks as did Mollie Mietus, while Nysaa Hanlin added three aces. Chayse Skinner ran the Oilers offense with 11 set assists.
