Moniteau Girls, Meadville, Grove City Boys Notch Golf Wins Powered by Hunter’s Station Golf Club

BUTLER, Pa. – Moniteau’s Mariska Shunk shot a 43 to earn medalist honors in the girls’ golf match at Aubrey’s Dubbs Dred Golf Course on Monday.

Moniteau finished in first place in the team standings with a score of 142, as Kendall Sankey shot a 47 and Jesse Stocks a 52.

Cranberry had a team score of 214, with Mallory McMasters shooting a 62, while A-C Valley had a team score of 228, with Ruby Watson firing a 58.

MEADVILLE BOYS WIN REGION 6 MATCH

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Meadville (323) edged Warren (327) for first in the first Region 6 mega match of the year at The Country Club of Meadville, with Cathedral Prep’s Connor Laird notching the low round with a 70.

            

Five other golfers shot in the 70s, with Warren’s Braddock Damore carding a 72, Meadville’s Robert Mahoney and Prep’s Cooper Wierzchowski a 76 and Alex Burgess of Meadville a 77.

Hickory’s Owen Hamelly shot an 80 and Warren’s Brady Berdine an 81.

Prep was third in the team standings with a 333, Hickory fourth at 335, McDowell fifth at 339, Erie High sixth at 371 and Corry seventh at 424.

Ethan Bock and Jack Mucha each shot an 83 for McDowell.

GROVE CITY BOYS CLAIM REGION 2 MATCH

                          

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Led by Isaac Allan’s 76, Grove City was top in Monday’s Region 2 mega match at Slippery Rock Golf Club.

Grove City had a team score of 332, followed by West Middlesex (335), Wilmington (339), Slippery Rock (345), Sharon (350) and Sharpsville (405).

Wilmington’s Santino Toscano was second with a 77, while Slippery Rock’s Trent Davey and West Middlesex’s Bowen Briggs each shot a 79.

Will Beckert and Lex Dobosh each shot an 82 for Sharon.

LAKEVIEW WINS REGION 1 MATCH

MERCER, Pa. – Greenville’s Brandon Stubert cleared the field by 10 strokes, but it was Lakeview that won Monday’s Region 1 mega match with a team score of 334.

Greenville was second at 344.

The Sailors were led by Adam Snyder’s 80 and Jackson Gadsby’s 81.

Jamestown’s Danner Babcock also shot an 80, while Mercer’s Madison Parker shot an 84.

Jamestown was third with a team score of 367.
