McBride Leads Prep Girls to Big Win Over Blackhawk; Warren Boys Power Past Seneca; Kennedy Rallies Past Meadville

WEXFORD, Pa. – Jayden McBride scored 17 points as Cathedral Prep picked up a big 40-36 win over Blackhawk in the North Allegheny Showcase.

After taking a 19-16 halftime lead, the Ramblers led 31-30 after three quarters and outscored the Cougars 9-6 in the fourth quarter to secure their 11th straight win.

Addie Biel added nine points for Prep.

Alena Fusetti poured in a game-high 24 points for Blackhawk, while Kassie Potts added 10.

MEADVILLE 55, JAMESTOWN 20

                                      

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Alex Gallagher and Marlaya McCoy combined for 36 points as Meadville earned a 55-20 non-region win over Jamestown.

Gallagher had 19 points and McCoy 17 for the Bulldogs, who went on a 19-4 run in the second quarter en route to the win.

Aliviah Ashton was also in double figures for Meadville with 12 points.

Alayna Cadman had nine points for Jamestown.

WARREN 74, SENECA 61

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Warren raced out to a 46-27 halftime lead on its way to a 74-61 non-region win over Seneca.

The win was the third straight for the Dragons, who got a balanced offensive effort, led by Braylon Barnes’ 17 points.

Tommy Nyquist and Owen Becker scored 16 points each for the Dragons, with 12 of Becker’s points coming in the first half.

Brady Berdine was also in double figures for the Dragons with 15 points (nine in the first half), while Parks Ordiway added six.

Logan Kibbe knocked down four 3’s and was 8-of-8 from the free-throw line to lead Seneca with a game-high 24 points, while Nolan Seabury added 12.

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 57, MEADVILLE 48

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Kennedy Catholic outscored Meadville 35-17 in the second half to rally for a 57-48 non-region win.

Meadville led 31-22 at halftime, as Lucas Luteran and Jack Burchard netted 16 points apiece for the Bulldogs.

Thorsten Hart led the rally for Kennedy Catholic with 17 points, while Levi Hailstock had 14 and Nick Ondo eight.

                                   

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 55, A-C VALLEY 46

FOXBURG, Pa. – Leading by two after the third quarter, Cambridge Springs outscored A-C Valley 22-15 in the fourth to earn a 55-46 win.

Josh Reisenauer led a balanced effort for Cambridge Springs with 16 points, eight of which came in the fourth quarter.

The Blue Devils, who have won 12 of their last 13 games, also got 11 points each from Brady Campbell and Ethan Counasse, while Parker Schmidt added 10.

Jay Clover scored 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to lead A-C Valley, while Alex Preston added 12 and Ryan Cooper 11.

SHARPSVILLE 74, VENANGO CATHOLIC 43

OIL CITY, Pa. – Liam Campbell had 15 points (13 in the first quarter) and 10 rebounds as Sharpsville earned a 74-43 D9/10 crossover win over Venango Catholic.

The Blue Devils also got 14 points and 10 boards from Braden Scarvel and 10 points from Luke Staunch.

James Henry poured in a game-high 21 points for Venango Catholic, while Niko Blauser added 15.
