NORTH EAST 7, CONNEAUT (OHIO) 6, 5 innings

NORTH EAST 19, CONNEAUT (OHIO) 3, 5 innings

NORTH EAST, Pa. – North East walked off on an error in Game 1 against North East, 7-6, and dominated Game 2, 19-3 in a doubleheader sweep on Wednesday. 

                  

North East built a 6-2 lead in the first game, as Elizabeth Svetz went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Madison Shaffer was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and Cadence Jones 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. 

Conneaut scored three runs in the second and another in the fourth to tie the game. Kaitlyn Bean belted a solo home run for the Spartans. 

Delaney Prather got the win, allowing three earned runs on four hits and two walks, striking out six. 

The Grapepickers broke things open in Game 2 with a 12-run fourth inning. Shaffer, Jones, Svetz, Hannah Kemmet, Elle Blakeslee and Karlee Stetson all drove in runs in the frame. 

Jones connected for two triples and had four RBIs. Jones also had four RBIs and Shaffer three. 

                          

Prather tossed three scoreless innings for North East. 

REYNOLDS 5, SHARPSVILLE 4 

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Kylie McAdoo’s 2-run home run in the fifth inning gave Reynolds a lead they wouldn’t relinquish in a 5-4 win over Sharpsville. 

The home run was one of three for the Raiders, as Lauren Bonner and Mackenzie Herman also went deep. 

Paige Yarian homered for the Blue Devils, driving in two and scoring two. 

               

Halyn Cawthorne got the win, striking out 10 and allowing two earned runs on six hits and one walk. 

Breanna Hanley took the loss but did strike out 14 Raiders without issuing a walk. 

WEST MIDDLESEX 8, LAKEVIEW 6

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Trailing 5-4, West Middlesex scored three runs in the fourth inning en route to an 8-6 win over Lakeview. 

Lilly Holt delivered an RBI double, which was followed by a 2-run single off the bat of Emily Dick. 

Taylor Tomko, Emma Gruver, and Loren Alsdorf also drove in runs for the Big Reds. 

Ava Gilmore got the win, allowing just one earned run and striking out three. 

Sierra Williams and Sophia DiMaria had two hits apiece for Lakeview. 

Izzy Chaffee took the loss, allowing four runs in 5 ⅓ innings, striking out six, and allowing eight hits. 

               

SENECA 16, IROQUOIS 3, 5 innings

LAWRENCE PARK, Pa. – Seneca had 13 hits, took advantage of seven Iroquois errors, and scored six runs in the fifth inning in a 16-3 win over Iroquois. 

Kendall Joint, Sydney Marie, Aubrey Hammill, and Ashley Post all drove in a run in the fifth. 

Post went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Hammill was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Joint was also 3-for-4 with a pair of runs. 

Post got the win, allowing seven hits in her five innings, striking out three. 

Grace Belfiore was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Iroquois. 

Alayzha McCray took the loss.

A-C VALLEY 27, OIL CITY 8, 4 INNINGS

OIL CITY, Pa. – Baylee Blauser hit a pair of home runs and Kenzie Parks and Brogan Armagost each drove in six runs in A-C Valley’s 27-8, four-inning win at Oil City.

Blauser was 3-for-4 with the two dingers, a walk, four RBIs, and five runs scored.

Parks went 4-for-5 with a triple and four runs scored, and Armagost was 4-for-5 with a double and three runs scored.

Lexi Bauer added four RBIs for the Lady Falcons and was 2-for-3 while being hit by two pitches and scoring twice with Meah Ielase going 2-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBIs.

Andrea Meals chipped in with a 2-for-4 day with an RBI and three runs scored, Rylan Strausser was 2-for-5 with a double and three runs scored, and Bella Ielase went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs.

A-C Valley scored 13 second-inning runs sending 18 batters to the plate and 11 fourth-inning runs while sending 16 batters to the plate.

Lizzy Hoover paced Oil City going 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBIs with Paige Roess going 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Parks got the win going four innings allowing eight runs, five earned, on six hits and four walks while striking out two.

Nyssa Hanlon took the loss going four innings allowing 27 runs, 17 earned, on 21 hits, four walks, and two hit batters while striking out five.
