Knox Returns to Help Power Oil City to Win; Cochranton Rolls

   
   

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Ethen Knox rushed for 234 yards and three touchdowns as Oil City earned a 36-15 win in the Route 8 rivalry over Franklin.

Franklin actually struck first on Bryson Watson’s 7-yard touchdown run in the second quarter that, coupled with the 2-point conversion, made it 8-0.

The Oilers rallied to take a 14-8 halftime lead thanks to a Knox 11-yard run and a Cole Findlay 14-yard touchdown pass to Justen Dunkle with 30 seconds left in the first half.

It was the Knox show in the second half, as he scored on runs of 12, 19 and 60 yards.

Alex Wible added a 12-yard touchdown run for Franklin in the third quarter.

            

COCHRANTON 62, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 8

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Blake Foulk had two rushing touchdowns, a receiving touchdown and an interception return for touchdown all in the first half to help lead Cochranton to a 62-8 win over Kennedy Catholic.

The Cardinals led 46-0 at halftime.

Noah Cummings also had a touchdown run in the first half, while Walker Carroll also threw a touchdown pass to Dawson Carroll.

Foulk capped his brilliant game with a 55-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, while Cummings had a 23-yard touchdown run in the second half for the Cardinals.

                          

MERCYHURST PREP 72, NORTHWESTERN 0

ALBION, Pa. – Ja’son Ellman had a touchdown rushing, receiving and via a punt return as Mercyhurst Prep moved to 4-0 with a 72-0 win over Northwestern.

Ellman scored on a 60-yard punt return, a 29-yard run, a 39-yard pass from Paul Johnson and also recorded a safety on defense.

Johnson threw for two touchdowns and finished with 83 yards passing, while JJ Ganska had 73 yards rushing and two touchdowns on runs of 53 and 8 yards.

The Lakers led 64-0 at halftime en route to the win.
