INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – Former Kennedy Catholic star and Kentucky Wildcat Oscar Tshiebwe has agreed to a two-way deal with the Indiana Pacers, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Tshiebwe, who wasn’t selected in Thursday’s NBA Draft, was the Unanimous National Player of the Year (Sporting News, Associated Press, United States Basketball Writer’s Association, National Association of Basketball Coaches, Naismith Trophy, Wooden Award) as a junior in the 2021-22 season after transferring from West Virginia.

He was a second-team All-American in 2022-23, averaging 16.5 points per game and 13.7 rebounds per game.

At Kennedy Catholic, Tshiebwe helped lead the Golden Eagles to a pair of state championships in Class 1A as a junior and Class 6A as a senior in 2018.

He was also named a McDonald’s All-American and the Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior, averaging 23.2 points per game as a senior and finishing with 1,480 points in his high school career.

Each NBA team is allowed to give a two-way contract to two players at a time. It allows them to be rostered on both the NBA team and the G League affiliate simultaneously. The player is permitted to be active on the NBA roster for a maximum of 50 games. The rest of the season must be spent with the G League affiliate.
