JOHNSONBURG 47, SHEFFIELD 37

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Jefferson Freeburg and Luke Zimmerman combined for 23 points to help visiting Johnsonburg outlast Sheffield, 47-37, in AML North action.

Freeburg led the Rams with 13 points with Zimmerman adding 10.

Connor Finch had a game-high 17 points for Sheffield with Caden Copley and Tony Richards each adding eight.

                                      

NORTH CLARION 53, KARNS CITY 36

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – Collin Schmader had a point-assist double-double to lift North Clarion past visiting and still shorthanded Karns City, 53-36.

Schmader scored a game-high 22 points to go with 10 assists, five rebounds, and two steals for the Wolves, while Aiden Hartle added 13 points, five rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Also for North Clarion, Zeelan Hargenrader added seven points and six rebounds.

Karns CIty, still playing without leading scorer Luke Cramer (ankle injury) got nine points apiece from Jacob Callihan and Micah Rupp.

                          

CLARION 59, CRANBERRY 43

CLARION, Pa. – Gabe Simko scored six of his game-high 18 points in the fourth quarter to help Clarion pull away from visiting Cranberry, 59-43.

The Bobcats led by just seven, 42-35, going to the fourth quarter but outscored the Berries 17-8 in the quarter with Christian Simko helping out his brother with five points in the quarter and 15 in the game.

Devon Lauer also scored 10 points for Clarion with Dawson Smail chipping in nine.

Noel Bunyak paced Cranberry with 10 points, Ethan Merryman added nine tallies, and Dane Ley had eight.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 77, VENANGO CATHOLIC 39

OIL CITY, Pa. – On the road, Clarion-Limestone had four players scored in double digits in a 77-39 win over Venango Catholic.

Alex Painter and Ryan Hummell led the Lions with 14 points each with Hummell adding seven rebounds, seven assists, a block, and a steal.

Also for C-L, Jase Ferguson had 12 points, six rebounds, six assists, and five steals, and Rylie Klingensmith scored 11 points.

The Lions also got nine tallies from Tommy Smith.

                                   

Colin Liederbach paced Venango Catholic with 14 points with Logan Rakow adding nine and Ben Campbell eight.

KEYSTONE 63, FOREST AREA 23

MARIENVILLE, Pa. – Building a 34-8 halftime lead, Keystone cruised to a 63-23 win over Forest Area at East Forest.

Drew Keth led the Panthers with 14 points with Bret Wingard scoring 11, all in the first quarter.

In all, 11 different Keystone players scored with Tyler Albright chipping in eight points and Drew Slaugenhaupt seven.

Amber Guzzi led Forest Area with eight points. Allen Johnston scored six points.

MOSHANNON VALLEY 48, CURWENSVILLE 45

HOUTZDALE, Pa. – A frantic fourth-quarter comeback attempt by visiting Curwensville came up just short in a 48-45 loss to Moshannon Valley in ICC North action.

The Golden Tide trailed by 12, 40-28, entering the final eight minutes but rallied behind a pair of 3-pointers and eight points from Ty Terry and five points from Parker Wood to make it a game.

Wood led Curwensville with 15 points, Danny McGarry added 14, and Terry 12.

Michael Kitko hit six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 22 points for Moshannon Valley with all 22 coming in the first three quarters including 19 in the first half.

Samuel Howard added 16 points for the Black Knights, who lost 62-34 to Curwensville Dec. 17.

BALD EAGLE AREA 51, CLEARFIELD 40

WINGATE, Pa. – Turning around a 26-point loss Dec. 20 to Clearfield, Bald Eagle Area held the visiting Bison to 11 first-half points in a 51-40 Mountain League victory.

The Eagles led 20-11 at the break and got 17 points from Alex Gavlock to turn around a 65-39 loss in Clearfield.

                                  

Chase Thompson and Camron Watkins each added 10 points in the win.

Isakk Way paced Clearfield with 12 points with Ryan Gearhart scoring nine and Cole Miller eight, all in the fourth quarter.
