Jan. 15, 2022 Wrestling: Meadville Second at Howland Invitational; Brookville 4-1 at Ultimate Duals

HOWLAND, OHIO – Meadville finished in second place and Franklin sixth in the ten-team Howland Invitational on Saturday.

                        

The Bulldogs finished with 175.5 team points and the Knights 97.5.

Alex Kinder (132) and Westin Chess (150) took home tournament titles for Meadville, while Stephen Ernst (120) was second, Connor Kearns (138) and Brighton Anderson (145) third, and Rhoan Woodrow (215) fourth.

Cael Zigler (150) and Kadin Karns (215) took third-place finishes for Franklin, while Trevor Hamilton (132) and Dallas Ross (120) were fourth in their respective weight classes.

BROOKVILLE GOES 4-1 at ULTIMATE DUALS

                              

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Brookville went 4-1 at its Ultimate Duals on Saturday.

The Raiders earned a 42-18 win over Saegertown, 40-27 over Burrell, 40-19 over Fort LeBoeuf and 51-18 over Reynolds. Their lone loss came in their final match of the day, 35-25 to Chestnut Ridge.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 36, WARREN 33

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Host Punxsutawney got four pins in a 36-33 win over Warren.

Dysen Gould (120), Brice Rowan (145), Brady Smith (152) and Landon Martz (172) all won by fall for the Chucks.

                          

Josh Letko (138) and Connor Hecei (189) won by pin for the Dragons, while Tristan Dolan got a 7-5 decision at 215.

There were five total forfeits and one no contest.
