Irwins Power Warren Girls Past Titusville; GM Boys, Girls Earn Shutout Wins (Aug. 31 Soccer Recaps)

GIRLS

WARREN 8, TITUSVILLE 2

WARREN, Pa. – Meea (4) and Leyna Irwin (3) combined for seven goals as Warren earned an 8-2 win over Titusville.

Both Irwins also added an assist, with Lucy Bigelow also scoring a goal and tallying an assist.

            

Marielle Stanz also had two assists in the win for the Lady Dragons.

GENERAL MCLANE 7, HICKORY 0

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Remy Suroviec recorded a hat trick as General McLane blanked Slippery Rock, 7-0.

Sydney Rotko also had two goals for GM, which led 4-0 at halftime.

Lena Bookhamer and Sophie Allison had the other goals for GM. Bookhamer added two assists and Rotko and Sam Johnson one each.

                          

Bella Dibble had the shutout in net.

KEYSTONE 4, SHARON 0

SHARON, Pa. – Sarah Cotton recorded all four goals as Keystone earned a 4-0 win over Sharon.

Jersey Bell had four stops in net to earn the shutout.

Chloe Pagliarini had seven saves for Sharon.

DUBOIS 4, BROCKWAY 0

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Emily Graeca had a goal and three assists as DuBois topped Brockway, 4-0.

Maddie Sawtelle, Katie McGahey and Sydney Peace also had goals for DuBois.

Jasmine Carney had the clean sheet in net.

PORT ALLEGANY 1, SALAMANCA (NY) 0

                        

SALAMANCA, N.Y. – Ellie Yeager’s goal off an assist from Kailey Bartlett with 14 minutes remaining in the game lifted Port Allegany to a 1-0 win over Salamanca (N.Y.).

Jennifer Baxter had five saves to earn the clean sheet in net for Port, including a diving save with less than a minute to play.

Shae Monahan had one save for Salamanca.

MERCYHURST PREP 4, EISENHOWER 0

RUSSELL, Pa. – Molly Taylor scored a pair of goals to help Mercyhurst Prep to a 3-0 win over Eisenhower.

         

Sarah Herman and Audrey Zimmerman had the other goals for Mercyhurst Prep.

SENECA 3, GIRARD 0

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Autumn Wade scored a pair of goals to lead Seneca to a 3-0 win over Girard.

HARBOR CREEK 9, FRANKLIN 0

HARBOR CREEK, Pa. – Bella Infantino and Rowan Wolfe had two goals each to help the Huskies to a shutout win over Franklin.

BOYS SOCCER

SLIPPERY ROCK 4, SHARPSVILLE 2

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Max Kovcik scored a pair of goals to help Slippery Rock to a 4-2 win over Sharpsville.

The Rockets led 3-2 at halftime.

Jesse Gahring and Collin Wimer also scored for Slippery Rock. Alex Cable had two assists for the Rockets and Mason Hertzog one.

Brady Jones scored both goals for Sharpsville.

GENERAL MCLANE 5, SHARON 0

EDINBORO, Pa. – Carter Sindlinger scored a pair of goals as GM blanked Sharon, 5-0.

The Lancers led 2-0 at halftime.

Cooper Robson, Gio Masone and Quinn McFadden had the other goals. Sindlinger, Robson, Masone and McCall Eichner had assists.

Jonny Kavelish had the shutout in net.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 6, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 0

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Wyatt Boyden had two goals and one assists as Clarion-Limestone blanked DuBois Central Catholic, 6-0.

Thomas Uckert had one goal and two assists, while Brenden Bettwy, Martin Ormeno and Layton Dunn had one goal each. Dany Schweitzer added an assist.

Isaac Lerch got the clean sheet in net.
