Hohman Accounts for Five Touchdowns in Grove City Win; Sharpsville, Sharon, Farrell Also Pick Up Region 3 Victories

   
   

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Hunter Hohman threw for 372 yards and three touchdown passes, two of which went to Joey Hathaway, and ran for two more as Grove City earned a 47-14 win over Slippery Rock.

Grove City led 28-7 at halftime on the strength of touchdown passes of 49 and 29 yards to Hathaway, a 5-yard run by Hathaway and a 36-yard touchdown pass from Hohman to Gavin Lutz.

Hohman scored on touchdown runs of 11 and 13 yards and finished with 52 yards on the ground on six carries.

Bode Stevenson added a touchdown run late in the second half for GC.

Nathan Greer (103), Hathaway (119) and Lutz (121) were all over 100 yards receiving for Grove City.

            

Owen Long had an 18-yard touchdown run for Slippery Rock in the first half and Eli Anderson on a 79-yard run in the second half.

SHARPSVILLE 41, GREENVILLE 13

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Jaiden White had two rushing and two receiving touchdowns as Sharpsville earned a 41-13 win over Greenville.

Caullin Summers, meanwhile, threw for three touchdowns and ran for another.

Summers’ touchdown passes to White covered 6 and 25 yards in the first half as Sharpsville built a 34-7 halftime advantage.

                          

Summer began the game by throwing a 71-yard touchdown pass to Killian Whalen.

White and Summers scored Sharpsville’s final two touchdowns on runs of 1 and 3 yards.

White finished with 95 yards on the ground and 60 yards receiving. Summers, meanwhile, threw for 257 yards and rushed for 27.

Nick Solderich had a 1-yard rushing touchdown and also threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Noah Philson.

Solderich finished with 150 yards through the air for the Trojans.

FARRELL 26, HICKORY 7

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Brandon Chambers had a receiving and rushing touchdown and Kabron Smith had a rushing and passing touchdown as Farrell improved to 5-0 with a 26-7 Region 3 win over Hickory.

Farrell led 12-0 after the first quarter on the strength of a Smith to Chambers 20-yard touchdown and a Smith 1-yard quarterback sneak.

Hickory scored it’s lone touchdown of the game on a Zander Telesz 8-yard touchdown pass to Parker Hilliard in the second quarter.

The Steelers took a 20-7 halftime lead on Chambers’ 43-yard touchdown run and Juelz Johnson scored the only touchdown of the second half on a 4-yard run in the third quarter.

                        

Johnson led the Steelers with 166 yards on the ground, while Chambers had 28 yards rushing and 27 receiving. Smith, meanwhile, was 6-of-9 through the air for 66 yards.

For Hickory, Telesz ran for 46 yards and threw for 98, 70 of which went to Tylon Cousin Jr.

SHARON 18, WILMINGTON 0

SHARON, Pa. – Sharon’s defense continued to dominate, earning its fourth shutout in five games in an 18-0 win over Wilmington.

The Tigers bounced back from a walk-off 17-14 loss to Grove City last week, as Mister Ham threw for two touchdowns and ran for another.

Sharon led 12-0 at halftime on the strength of a 52-yard run from Ham and a Ham 25-yard touchdown pass to CC Harrison.

That score held until the fourth quarter, when Ham threw a 15-yard pass to Bishop Root.

Ham finished with 143 yards on the ground and threw for 140 yards. Harrison had 70 yards receiving.

Buddah Book had 74 yards rushing for Wilmington.

COCHRANTON 16, MERCER 13

         

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Blake Foulk picked up right where he left off in leading Cochranton to a 16-13 win over Mercer.

Foulk, who scored a touchdown four different ways last week in a win over Kennedy Catholic, rallied the Cardinals from a 13-0 halftime deficit.

Foulk scored on runs of 2 and 6 yards in the first quarter, and also scored the 2-point conversion after the first touchdown. Isaiah Long had the other 2-point conversion run for the Cardinals.

Dameyin Mattock scored both Mercer touchdowns on runs of 22 and 38 yards in the first half.

MEADVILLE 57, CONNEAUT 0

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Meadville is known for its vaunted rushing attack, but against Conneaut, they showed they could win by throwing the ball as well.

Tate Reichel tossed two first-half touchdown passes as the Bulldogs blanked the Eagles, 57-0.

Reichel’s touchdown passes covered 38 yards to Tate Reichel, as well as 35-yarder to Bradyn Miller.

Miller and Anderson had big games as well.

Miller scored on a 60-yard touchdown run to open the scoring, while Anderson also had an interception return for a touchdown. Miller finished with 130 yards on the ground to lead the Bulldogs.
