Hickory Girls Win Lady Hornet Invite; Smethport, Moniteau Girls, GC Boys Triumph Powered by Hunter’s Station Golf Club

Hickory captured the 2023 Lady Hornet Invitational on Monday.
   

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Sasha Petrochko shot a 72 to help lead the Hickory girls’ golf team to a first-place finish at the Lady Hornet Invitational at Oak Tree Golf Course.

The Lady Hornets had a team score of 236, with Fairview second at 270 and North East third at 271.

North East’s Anna Swan also shot a 72.

Also for Hickory, Luciana Masters shot an 81 and Madey Myers an 83.

West Middlesex’s Kate Sowers shot a 79, while McDowell’s Alexis Marsh shot an 82 and Mercyhurst Prep’s Katie Carll shot an 84.

            

SMETHPORT GIRLS EDGE OSWAYO VALLEY

BOLIVAR, N.Y. – Oswayo Valley’s Rylee Thompson shot a 45, but Smethport edged OV 26.5-22.5 at the Bolivar Golf Course.

Thompson’s total came on the front nine (par is 36).

For Smethport, Hope Peterson shot a 55, Isabelle Learn a 62, Mia Thomas a 71 and Chloe Triplett a 90.

Also for OV, Shayden Mesler shot a 62 and Rachel Rathbun a 77.

                          

MONITEAU GIRLS TRIUMPH

KOSSUTH, Pa. – Led by Mariska Shunk’s 43, Moniteau (with a team score of 139) won Monday’s KSAC match at Hi-Level.

A-C Valley finished second with a team score of 174, while Cranberry had a total of 182.

Also for Moniteau, Kendall Sankey shot a 45 and Jessie Stocks a 48.

Keystone’s Lily Nicewonger shot a 55, while Reagan Best shot a 56 for A-C Valley and Kelsey Hanna a 57 for Cranberry.

GROVE CITY BOYS WIN REGION 2 MATCH

GROVE CITY, Pa. – With a team score of 355, Grove City took first at Monday’s Region 2 match at the Grove City Country Club.

West Middlesex’s Caden Bender had the lone round in the 70s with a 78.

For Grove City, Isaac Allen and Jimmy Irani shot 86s, while Trent Nemec carded an 87.

Wilmington was second in the team standings with a score of 360, while West Middlesex had a total of 364, Sharon 366, Slippery Rock 381 and Sharpsville 446.

                        

Sharon’s Will Beckert shot an 82, while Wilmington’s Santino Toscano shot an 83, and Slippery Rock’s Trent Davey and West Middlesex’s Bowen Briggs each shot an 86.
