SHARON, Pa. – It was a day of change at the District 10 Class 2A team wrestling championships on Saturday.

The headliner early in the day was Saegertown knocking off nine-time defending champion Reynolds in the quarterfinals eliminating the defending state champions from any hope of repeat and was punctuated with Hickory’s 44-27 win over top-seeded Fort LeBoeuf in the championship match to capture the Hornets’  first team title in program history.

Corry earned the final bid from D10 into the state tournament, notching a 37-28 win over the aforementioned Saegertown in the third-place match.

In the championship match, Hickory got pins from Dylan O’Brien, Timmy Krivosh, Cody Miller, Connor Saylor, and Ty Holland, as well as a tech fall from Louie Gill.

That came on the heels of a 48-21 quarterfinal win over Girard to start the day for the Hornets, followed by a 36-25 win over Corry in the semifinals.

LeBoeuf had a pair of tight wins, 33-32 over Cochranton and 33-28 over Saegertown to get to the finals.

The preliminary round of the PIAA championships gets underway Monday (Feb. 7), with first-round, quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals Feb. 10-12 at Hershey.

Hickory will draw the winner of the preliminary round matchup between Montgomery (D-4 runner-up) and West Perry (D-3 third-place).

LeBoeuf, meanwhile, will have a preliminary round matchup with Burgettstown, the third-place team out of the WPIAL, while Corry draws D-6 runner-up Tyrone in the preliminary round.
