Handzel, Prep Boys Top Erie; McCracken, Clearfield Girls Win in Double Overtime (Oct. 4 Soccer Recaps)

ERIE, Pa. – Cathedral Prep’s Noah Handzel scored a pair of goals in the Ramblers’ 5-1 win over Erie on Thursday.

Dylan Danch, Max Johnson and Cam Dunbar had one goal each for the Ramblers.

FRANKLIN 4, OIL CITY 0

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Nate Pfennigwerth had a hat trick as Franklin beat Route 8 rival Oil City, 4-0.

Chippy Whitling had the other goal for the Knights, while Connor Ritchey had two assists and Caleb Griffin one.

            

Reston Weismann had one save to earn the shutout.

KARNS CITY 5, BROCKWAY 0

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Lathan Price had a hat trick as Karns City beat Brockway, 5-0.

Adam Smith and Colton Ritzert had the other goals for the Gremlins.

Carter Ritzert, Braden Slater, Smith and Jacob Callihan had the assists.

                          

Lucas Yasika had the clean sheet in net.

GENERAL MCLANE 7, FORT LEBOEUF 0

WATERFORD, Pa. – Gio Masone had a hat trick as General McLane beat Fort LeBoeuf, 7-0.

David Price, Carer Sindlinger, Quinn McFadden and Shane Kehl had one goal each for the Lancers.

Cooper Robson and Sindlinger had two assists each and Price, Masone and Chase Durlin one apiece.

Riley Vogt had the shutout in net.

BROOKVILLE 16, PUNXSUTAWNEY 0

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Eleven different Brookville players scored in a 16-0 win over Punxsutawney.

Steven Plyler led the way for Brookville with four goals, while Isaac Reitz and Declan Reitz had two goals each and Ryan Kornbau, Luke McKinley, Caleb Kornbau, Ryke Seinekovic, Maddox Harmon, Daniel Turner, Austin Brosius and Gannon McMaster had one goal each.

SLIPPERY ROCK 2, SHARON 0

                        

SHARON, Pa. – Collin Wimer and Zach Lasko scored for Slippery Rock in a 2-0 win over Sharon.

Trent Davey had an assist for the Rockets, while Josh Book had the shutout in net.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 6, KANE 0

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Timmy Brannock had four goals and also tallied an assist in Elk County Catholic’s 6-0 win over Kane.

Benny Cerroni also had two goals for ECC.

         

Cerroni, Brannock, Lance O’Neil and Chase Simbeck had one assist each.

Sagan Beaver and Merrick Leckey combined on the shutout in net.

COUDERSPORT 4, PORT ALLEGANY 2

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Reilly Streich had a hat trick as Coudersport beat Port Allegany, 4-2.

Mason Roessner had the other goal for the Falcons, while LJ Titus and Micah Baston had two assists each, and Drew VanWhy and Mitch Taylor one.

Bradyen Rumsey had seven stops for Coudy.

Alex Schott and Austin Hamilton scored for Port Allegany.

WEST MIDDLESEX 5, COMMODORE PERRY 0

HADLEY, Pa. – Nathan Kachulis had two goals and one assist as West Middlesex beat Commodore Perry, 5-0.

Jonathan Young had one goal and two assists for the Big Reds, while Jonathan Erb had one goal and one assist and Benjamin Erb one goal.

Dylan Barnes had four saves to earn the clean sheet in net.

MERCYHURST PREP 1, HARBOR CREEK 0

HARBOR CREEK, Pa. – Santiago Camara scored the lone goal of the game in the second half as Mercyhurst Prep picked up a 1-0 win over Harbor Creek.

Alejandro Vazquez had the assist

Lorenzo Baker and Landon Spero combined on the shutout in net.

WILMINGTON 2, MERCER 0

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Ryder Tervo and Beckett Miller scored one goal each as Wilmington blanked Mercer, 2-0.

NORTH EAST 4, GIRARD 1

NORTH EAST, Pa. – Braxton Johnson scored for Girard, but it was North East that earned a 4-1 win.

North East stats were unavailable.

CLEARFIELD 1, BALD EAGLE AREA 0, double overtime

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – Emily McCraken’s goal with just under seven minutes to go in double overtime lifted Clearfield to a 1-0 win over Bald Eagle Area.

Mia Helsel had six stops in the shutout for the Bison, while Makaya Spicer had four stops for BEA.

MERCER 6, SHARON 0

SHARON, Pa. – Lauren Chess had a hat trick as Mercer blanked Sharon, 6-0.

Maddy Bailey had two goals for the Mustangs, while Natalie Davis had the other.

Morgan Miller had two assists and Bailey and Emily Blough one each.

Maddie Jewell had the clean sheet in net.

CLARION 7, OIL CITY 0

OIL CITY, Pa. – Julianna Wilson had a hat trick as Clarion blanked Oil City, 7-0

Alex Leadbetter and Lexi Coull had two goals each for the Bobcats, while Coull also had three assists.

BROOKVILLE 2, PUNXSUTAWNEY 1

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Lauren Castellan scored both Brookville goals in the second half to help Brookville to a 2-1 win over Punxsy.

Addison Patton assisted on both goals.

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Hannah Dailey had a hat trick as Karns City beat Brockway, 3-0.
