ERIE, Pa. – In a rematch of last season’s District 10 title game, Fort LeBoeuf’s Emily Samluk stepped up to play the role of hero, lifting the Bison to a 2-1 win with her overtime goal in the D10 Class 2A girls’ championship game.

General McLane had taken a 1-0 lead with 17:30 remaining on Sydney Rotko’s goal.

Samluk responded a short time later, scoring her first goal to tie the game at 1-1.

Both teams advance to the PIAA state tournament, with LeBoeuf meeting the winner of the WPIAL third place game, either South Park or Burrell, in the first round on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

McLane, meanwhile, is looking to follow a similar script to a year ago, when they lost to LeBeouf in the D10 title game but went on to advance all the way to the state final. The Lancers will draw the WPIAL champion, either Avonworth or Shady Side Academy.
