Five D10 Volleyball Players Named to AVCA Phenom List

Five District 10 volleyball players – three from Corry and two from Warren, have been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Phenom List.

Those honored are Corry’s Halle Albers (junior, outside hitter), Aubrey Chase (junior, middle hitter) and Makenna Moore (junior, outside hitter), and Warren’s Maddy Jones (junior, outside hitter) and Lindsay Madigan (junior, setter).

The requirements for having an athlete on the AVCA Phenom List are: the student-athlete must have a 2025, 2026, or 2027 grad year and must have been recognized in some form for her outstanding volleyball abilities (All-Region, All- State, PVB Watchlist, USAV NTDP team, etc.) AND the student-athlete’s high school head coach, club coach, or club director must be an active AVCA member.

Albers was second on the Corry last season with 201 kills and 59 service aces, and third on the team with 224 digs.

Chase led the team with 252 kills and a 0.316 hitting efficiency and was third on the team with 16 blocks.

            

Moore led the team with 98 service aces, second on the team with 402 digs, and third on the team with 182 kills.

For Warren, Jones was third on the team in kills last season with 177 while also collecting 21 blocks.

Madigan, meanwhile, had 665 assists (7.5 per set) and also had 159 digs.

Uncommitted athletes on the AVCA Phenom Watch List are invited by the AVCA to participate in the Phenom College Preparatory Program. The AVCA Phenom College Preparatory Program is a weekend of events held in conjunction with the AVCA Annual Convention and the NCAA DI National Championship. Since the start of the Phenom Program, 80% of participating athletes end up on college rosters!

The 2023 AVCA Phenom College Prep Program will take place from December 14-17,
