ERIE, Pa. – Grove City’s Macy Matson and Villa Maria’s Anna Poranski have advanced to the Class 2A singles championships, as have Fairview’s Trinity Fox and McDowell’s Nabiah Bhatti in Class 3A following their performances on Saturday.
Poranski got to the finals via wins over Grove City’s Emily Williams (8-0) in the quarterfinals and Mercyhurst Prep’s Lauren Richmond (6-1, 6-0) in the semifinals.
Matson earned wins over Oil City’s Emily Russell (8-1) in the quarterfinals and an 8-2 triumph over Mercyhurst Prep’s Angela Chardeen in the semifinals.
In Class 3A, Fox beat Erie’s Sydney Edwards in the Round of 16 (8-0), McDowell’s Elise Heinlein (8-0) in the quarterfinals and McDowell’s Marla Minchelli (6-2, 6-1) in the semifinals.
She will face Bhatti, who beat Erie’s Riley Gloystien 9-2 in the Round of 16, Fairview’s Lydia Soltis (8-3) in the quarterfinals and Erie’s Enisa Siljkovic (6-1, 6-2) in the semifinals.
The championships will be on Monday at 2 p.m.
