WARREN, Pa. – Central Clarion’s Jase Ferguson and St. Marys’ Matthew Davis are the co-Week Eight Jim Kelly District 9 Football Players of the Week powered by the Allegheny Grille in Foxburg.

Ferguson continued to show his value as perhaps the best all-around player in District 9 in Friday’s 70-0 win over DuBois by going 15 of 19 passing for 282 yards and five touchdowns while rushing six times for 54 yards and a touchdown and intercepting two passes on defense.

Davis, meanwhile, the top running back in District 9, put in the first 300-yard performance by a D9 back this season rushing for 320 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries in a 28-20 win over Bradford. That included a key 75-yard second-half touchdown run that expanded a two-point lead into the eight-point advantage that held up at the end. Davis also had a sold game on defense with seven tackles, including one for a loss.

For Ferguson, this is his second Player of the Week honor, while it is Davis’ first.

Fourteen players join Ferguson and Davis on the District 9 Honor Roll.
