Fairview Ends North East’s Seven-Game Winning Streak; Farrell Goes to 9-0

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Vinny Campoli ran for 174 yards and three touchdowns as Fairview snapped North East’s 7-game winning streak with a 28-14 win.

The win put a significant down payment on the Tigers’ Class 3A playoff hopes, as they improved to 5-2.

Campoli accounted for the lone score of the first half, a 3-yard run that put the Tigers 7-0.

North East’s Jackson Humes got a busy third quarter started with a 26-yard touchdown pass to Jamari Curlett that tied the game up at 7-7.

The Tigers got the ball back on the ensuing possession and scored on Campoli’s 3-yard run to go back up, 14-7.

            

Fairview’s Jacob Harkness picked off North East quarterback Jackson Humes on the following possession and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown to give Fairview a two-score lead.

Campoli put the finishing touches on his day with a 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Harkness also had 55 yards receiving for Fairview and Tyler Benford 41 yards rushing.

FARRELL 49, SLIPPERY ROCK 0

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Kabron Smith accounted for three touchdowns and Juelz Johnson ran for two scores as Farrell moved to 9-0 with a 49-0 win over Slippery Rock.

                          

Smith was 10-of-11 passing for 110 yards as Farrell built a 41-0 halftime lead, connecting with JuJu Phillips and Simeir Wade on touchdowns.

Johnson had 102 yards on the ground.

Danny Odem also had a 64-yard punt return for touchdown.

Aaron Pegues threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Dey’mar Cain in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring for the Steelers.

SENECA 20, NORTHWESTERN 15

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Nolan Seabury ran for 50 yards and two touchdowns as Seneca beat Northwestern, 20-15.

Isaiah Cadden also score on a touchdown run for the Bobcats.

Lloyd Fountain threw for 57 yards and an 8-yard touchdown pass to Braden Swift for Northwestern.

David White also had 45 yards rushing and a touchdown for Northwestern.
