Dec. 18, 2021 Wrestling: Redbank Valley Earns 600th Win in Program History

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Redbank Valley picked up its 600th win in program history with a 42-36 win over Punxsutawney at the Redbank Valley Duals on Saturday.

                        

The Bulldogs also picked up wins over Bradford (39-36), Titusville (36-33) and Ridgway (60-18) on Saturday.

Curwensville also had a strong day, picking up wins over Youngsville (45-9), Clarion (39-21), Bradford (42-24) and Ridgway (55-6).

In other action, Clarion beat Youngsville, 33-26 and Ridgway (42-6), while Kane picked up wins over Redbank (42-36), Clarion (29-24) and Curwensville (33-30).

Bradford was also a 48-30 winner over Youngsville and Titusville a 39-18 victor over Clarion.

                              

BROOKVILLE 13th at KING OF THE MOUNTAIN

MILL HALL, Pa. – Brookville finished 13th out of 32 teams at the King of the Mountain Tournament at Central Mountain High School.

Owen Reinsel and Brayden Kunselman turned in fourth-place performances at 132 and 138 pounds, while Bryce Rafferty was fifth at 215 pounds.

The Raiders finished with 93 team points, with first place Williamsport tallying 169.

General McLane was 22nd in the team standings with 54.5 points, as Wilson Spires earned a second-place finish at 285 pounds.

                          

ST. MARYS SEVENTH at PANTHER HOLIDAY CLASSIC; HARBOR CREEK’S PIERCE WINS TITLE

CRESSON, Pa. St. Marys wrestling finished seventh out of 47 teams at the Panther Holiday Classic at Mount Aloysius College.

Aiden Beimel claimed a tournament title at 106 pounds, earning a 4-3 decision over Jack Darlington of Penns Valley in the finals.

Waylon Wehler (172) picked up a third-place finish for the Dutchmen with a 5-4 win over Cole Felker of Penns Valley in their third-place match.

Andrew Wolfagner (145) and Isaac Dellaquilla (160) turned in fifth-place performances for the Dutch.

Corry finished 11th in the team standings with 92 total points. Dallastown was first with 165.5 team points.

The Beavers picked up a pair of second-place finishes courtesy of Hayden Linkerhof at 215 and Xavier Reyda at 285.

Johnsonburg finished in 33rd place in the team standings, as Aiden Zimmerman (160) and Kaden Dennis (172) picked up sixth-place finishes.

Harbor Creek finished in 35th place in the team standings. Connor Pierce claimed a tournament championship at 138 pounds, earning a pin over Mount Pleasant’s Jamison Poklembo in the finals in 4:57
