Clouse Scores 100th Career Goal in Redbank Valley Win; Franklin Gets Key Region Victory Over Warren (Sept. 25 Soccer Recaps)

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Owen Clouse hit the century mark as Redbank Valley blanked Punxsutawney, 12-0.

Clouse, already the program’s all-time goal-scoring leader, scored four goals for the Bulldogs.

Caleb Root had a hat trick for the Bulldogs, while Ty Carrier, Jordan Smith, Kieran Fricko, Nolan Barnett, Kaden Pago and Perez had one goal each.

            

FRANKLIN 4, WARREN 0

WARREN, Pa. – Nate Pfenningwerth scored a pair of goals as Franklin blanked Warren, 4-0.

Franklin shut out a Warren team that had scored 28 goals over its recent 6-0-1 stretch.

                          

Brady Umbenhaur was key on the backline for Franklin, earning Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Game honors.

“We had the game plan figured out before the game, what we needed to do and we were able to practice it the day before,” Umbenhaur said during the Cole Orthodontic Associates Player of the Game interview.

Franklin scored three of its four goals in the first half.

Spencer Riley and Seldon Bean also scored for Franklin.

Reston Weismann had the clean sheet in net.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 3, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 0

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Thomas Uckert, Dany Schweitzer and Brendan Bettwy scored one goal each as Clarion-Limestone earned a 3-0 win over Elk County Catholic.

Wyatt Boyden and Nathan Frederick had one assist each.

                        

Isaac Lerch recorded his fifth shutout of the season in net.

SLIPPERY ROCK 2, HICKORY 1, double overtime

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Trent Davey scored both Slippery Rock goals, including in double overtime in a 2-1 win over Hickory.

Braden Callen had an assist for Slippery Rock.

Trent Davey scored for Hickory.

         

BROOKVILLE 2, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 1

DUBOIS, Pa. – Isaac Reitz and Luke Sorek scored in the second half as Brookville rallied fora 2-1 win over DuBois Central Catholic.

Brad Fiscus and Luke McKinley had assists for the Raiders, who trailed 1-0 at halftime.

PORT ALLEGANY 1, BROCKWAY 0

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Henry Kisler scored on a penalty kick with 13 minutes remaining in regulation to lift Port Allegany to a 1-0 win over Brockway.

Micah Emerick twice saved potential goals from Brockway by clearing the ball off the goal line. Aidan Clark had six stops for Port Allegany.

Jacob Maze had five stops for Brockway.

BRADFORD 6, ERIE 1

BRADFORD, Pa. – Andrew Mangold and Mitch Strauss scored two goals each as Bradford earned a 6-1 win over Erie.

Gabe Tate and Aiden Willard had one goal each for the Owls, while Strauss also had four assists.

ST. MARYS 9, COUDERSPORT 0

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Liam Brem recorded a hat trick as St. Marys beat Coudersport, 9-0.

Holden Lipsey had two goals for the Dutchmen, who led 5-0 at halftime.

James Pistner, Shawnee Troha, Angelo Catalone and Beau Wildfire also found the back of the net for St. Marys.

CATHEDRAL PREP 11, MEADVILLE 0

ERIE, Pa. – Noah Handzel scored three goals and Brandon Lin two as Cathedral Prep blanked Meadville, 11-0.

Andrew DiSanza, Dylan Danch, Max Johnson, Tyler Chermack, Cam Dunbar and Andrew Spitzer also had one goal each for the Ramblers.

Danch added three assists and Dunbar two.

MCDOWELL 11, CORRY 1

CORRY, Pa. – Ahmed Agag had a hat trick as McDowell beat Corry, 11-1.

Jackson Gallo and Alem Alicusic had two goals each for the Trojans, while Alex Sontheimer, Carter Bentsen, Jake Levy and Mike Bolmanski had the other goals.

Alicusic and Carter Swanson had two assists each.

NORTH EAST 3, MERCYHURST PREP 1

ERIE, Pa. – Joel Morey scored all three North East goals in a 3-1 win over Mercyhurst Prep.

Will Vanderweele had two assists for the Pickers and Aiden Radicella one for North East.

FAIRVIEW 2, HARBOR CREEK 1

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Dan Lindenberger and Sebastian Wright both scored as Fairview earned a 2-1 win over Harbor Creek.

Jackson Chiocco had two assists for the Tigers.

Ben Wolfe had the lone goal for Harbor Creek.

MERCER 3, SHARPSVILLE 1

MERCER, Pa. – Joseph Stotsky and Donte Aloisio had one goal each as Mercer earned a 3-1 win over Sharpsville.

The Mustangs also had a goal off a crosser as time expired in the first half, with Sharpsville thinking the half had ended.

Brady Jones scored on a penalty kick for Mercer.

GIRARD 7, FORT LEBOEUF 0

GIRARD, Pa. – Seven different Girard players scored in a 7-0 win over Fort LeBoeuf

Landon Snook, Luke Wetzel, Koen Desanti, Noah Panic, Lucky Lazar, Luke Gresh and Jacob Gresh all found the back of the net for the Jackets.
Chase Patterson had the shutout in net.

SENECA 4, IROQUOIS 2

ERIE, Pa. – Four different Seneca players scored in a 4-2 win over Iroquois.

Reed Yost, Braden Kibber, Cameron Bebee and Jed Brown all found the back of the net for Seneca.

Yost also had two assists in the win.

GROVE CITY 3, SHARON 0

SHARON, Pa. – Jimmy Irani scored a pair of goals as Grove City blanked Sharon, 3-0.

Caleb Baumgartner had the other goal for Sharon.

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Bree O’Donnell had a hat trick as Karns City blanked Brookville, 8-0.

Sarah Dodd had two goals for Karns City, while Hanna Dailey had one goal and two assists, while Carleigh Lucas had one goal and one assist and Audrina Hobaugh one goal.

Aubrey Price had two assists and Phoebe Brandon one.

Savanna Prescott had the clean sheet in net.

REDBANK VALLEY 5, PUNXSUTAWNEY 0

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lia Hageter had a hat trick as Redbank Valley blanked Punxsutawney, 5-0.

Alex Shoemaker had one goal for Redbank.

Bella Orr had two assists in the win and Kate Grafton one.

Carly Neiswonger had a shutout in net.

BROCKWAY 2, PORT ALLEGANY 0

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Eva Bisbey and Rhe Spinda scored one goal each as Brockway blanked Port Allegany, 2-0.

Josie Orinko had six stops to earn the clean sheet in net, while Jenn Baxter had 24 saves for Port.

FORT LEBOEUF 3, CATHEDRAL PREP 0

WATERFORD, Pa. – Ashley Froess had a pair of first half goals as Fort LeBoeuf beat Cathedral Prep, 3-0.

Jenna Popowski had the other goal for LeBoeuf.

GENERAL MCLANE 4, MERCYHURST PREP 0

EDINBORO, Pa. – Sydney Rotko had a hat trick as General McLane blanked Mercyhurst Prep, 4-0.

Sophia Allison had the other goal, while Lena Bookhamer, Cassie Chorney and Emma Walker had one assist each.

Bella Dibble had the clean sheet for the Lancers.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 4, CLARION 0

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Senna VanAlstine scored a pair of goals as Elk County Catholic beat Clarion, 4-0.

Katie Petrosky and Gina Geci had the other goals for ECC.
