Clearfield Out Guns Chesnut Ridge; KC Secures Playoff Berth; Brookville, Punxsy Win

HYDE, Pa. – Will Domico ran for two touchdowns and threw for a third to lead Clearfield to a 44-33 win over visiting Chestnut Ridge.

Domico ran for touchdowns of 2 and 15 yards while throwing a 20-yard touchdown pass to Carter Freeland.

Brady Collins went over 100 yards rushing and scored a pair of touchdowns for the Bison (7-3). He ran 14 times for 138 yards and scored on runs of 53 and 9 yards.

The game was close until the end with a 15-yard Carter Chamberlain touchdown run with 2:39 to play putting the contest on ice.

            

Clearfield led 37-21 following Domico’s 15-yard run with 10:20 to play.

But Chestnut Ridge scored back-to-back touchdowns with Jeb Emerick’s 2-yard run with 4:52 getting the Lions within four, 37-33.

Chamberlain added 85 yards rushing on 14 carries to go with his touchdown, while Freeland had two catches for 34 yards.

Nate Whysong ran for two touchdowns and threw for a third for Chestnut Ridge.

Clearfield will face Punxsutawney in the District 9 Class 3A title game at a site, time, and date to be announced.

                          

KARNS CITY 34, MOUNT UNION 19

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Behind a pair of 100-yard rushers, Karns City secured a District 9 Class 2A playoff berth with a 34-19 win over visiting Mount Union.

Luke Cramer ran 18 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns and Hunter Schrer added 19 carries for 100 yards and one touchdown, as the Gremlins (5-5) ran for over 300 yards on the night.

Despite the strong ground attack, Karns City, which led 12-0 at halftime on a pair of Cramer runs, was just up five, 12-7, after Mount Union’s Nasir Collins returned a punt 38 yards for a touchdown just over four minutes into the second half.

But a 51-yard scoring run by Braden Slater, who ran three times for 71 yards, made it 20-7, and a 2-yard touchdown run by Schrerer put the game away.

Owen Heginbotham also scored on the ground for the Gremlins, while Mount Union (8-2) also got a 33-yard Je’Sean Robinson touchdown catch from Bryce Danish.

Karns City will face Brookville in the District 9 Class 2A semifinals next week at a site, time, and date to be announced.

BROOKVILLE 35, RIDGWAY 6

RIDGWAY, Pa. – Charlie Krug threw three touchdown passes to lead Brookville to a 35-6 win at Ridgway.

Krug hit Hayden Freeman twice and Jack Pete once while going 12 of 21 for 250 yards. He also threw an interception.

                        

Freeman had a career night with seven catches for 208 yards and the two scores.

Anthony Ceriani added a rushing touchdown for Brookville (8-2) while rushing 13 times for 115 yards.

Rocco Delhunty scored the lone touchdown for Ridgway and carried the ball 11 times for 20 yards.

Cameron Larkin was 10 of 21 passing for 134 yards with three interceptions for the Elkers (2-8) while also rushing 12 items for 46 yards.

Eric Hoffman added three catches for 54 yards in the loss.

Brookville will take on Karns City in the District 9 Class 2A semifinals next week at a site, time, and date to be announced.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 33, UNION/A-C VALLEY 0

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Landon Martz ran for three touchdowns to help visiting Punxsutawney beat Union/A-C Valley, 33-0, at Vindunas Field in Rimersburg.

Martz scored on second-quarter runs of 10 and 3 yards helping the Chucks (7-3) take a 26-0 halftime lead then finished off the scoring with a 4-yard third-quarter scoring run.

Mason Nesbitt also scored on the Ground for Punxsutawney while Maddox Hetrick hit Zach Presloid with a 10-yard touchdown pass.

         

Meanwhile, Punxsutawney’s defense limited the Falcon Knights (5-5) to 144 total yards of offense with Brody Dittman going 15 of 30 for 110 yards and an interception.

Both teams are headed to the D9 postseason. Punxsutawney will face Clearfield in the D9 Class 3A title game, while Union/A-C Valley awaits to see its opponent in the Class 1A bracket.

HOLLIDAYSBURG 44, DUBOIS 23

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. – Mitchell Baronner ran 15 times for 100 yards and three touchdowns, and Caden DeLattre scored twice to lead Hollidaysburg to a 44-23 win over visiting DuBois.

Baronner scored on runs of 3, 19, and 4 yards, while Caden DeLattre caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Drew Wyland and then took an interception 55 yards to the house.

Trey Wingard threw a pair of touchdown passes for DuBois but also tossed three interceptions. He was 28 of 46 for 434 yards.

Kaden Clark caught eight passes for 150 yards, including scores of 57 and 2 yards, while Carter Voss added seven catches for 92 yards, and Nathan Kougher had five grabs for 89 yards.

Garret Nissell went over 100 yards on the ground – 13 carries, 147 yards – with 83 of those coming on a touchdown run.

DuBois (4-6) outgained Hollidaysburg 590 yards to 301 but couldn’t overcome a negative one turnover margin.

BRADFORD 25, KANE 14

BRADFORD, Pa. – Talan Reese threw three touchdowns to lead Bradford to a season-ending 25-14 win over visiting Kane.

Reese was 17 of 19 for 291 yards, as Bradford (4-6) won its most games since going 6-5 in 2018.

Logan Kohler caught seven passes for 188 yards to lead the Owls receiving corps while Adam Ward had three catches for 70 yards.

Kane finished the season 0-10.
