Cambridge Springs, Saegertown Boys Nab Tight Region 3 Victories; Fairview Wins Seventh Straight Jan. 27, 2023

RUSSELL, Pa. – Cambridge Springs built a 36-27 halftime lead and held off Eisenhower, 61-58 for a key Region 3 win.

Josh Reisnauer scored 10 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter to help Cambridge Springs close the game out.

Parker Schmidt added 12 points and Ethan Counasse eight for Cambridge Springs.

SAEGERTOWN 65, COCHRANTON 61

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Saegertown outscored Cochranton 21-12 in the fourth quarter to come back for a 65-61 Region 3 win.

                                      

Collin Jones and Sully Zirkle scored six points each in the fourth quarter for Saegertown, with Jones finishing with 11 points and Zirkle 10.

Brady Greco led Saegertown with 16 points, while Henry Shaffer added nine.

Landon Homa drained seven 3’s for Cochranton and finished with a game-high 25 points, while Dawson Carroll had 14 and Chase Miller nine.

YOUNGSVILLE 50, MAPLEWOOD 33

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Youngsville outscored Maplewood 31-13 in the second half to earn 50-33 win.

                          

Blake Myers scored eight of his 13 points in the fourth quarter for Youngsville, while Nathan Lucks led the Eagles with 16 points and Koby Hendrickson added 12.

Cole Doolittle had 10 points for Maplewood.

JAMESTOWN 61, ROCKY GROVE 43

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Jamestown went on a 19-6 run in the third quarter on its way to a 61-43 win over Rocky Grove.

Carter Williams scored 10 of his game-high 21 points in the third-quarter surge for the Muskies.

Josh Hill and Cam Keyser were also in double figures for Jamestown with 16 and 11 points, respectively.

D’Andre Whitman led Rocky Grove with 16 points, while Quinn Ritchey added eight.

FRANKLIN 75, CONNEAUT 41

LINESVILLE, Pa. – Jalen Wood led three Franklin players in double figures with 21 points as the Knights earned a 75-41 Region 6 win over Conneaut.

Wood drained four 3’s in the win, while Damon Curry finished with 16 points and Jonathon Leccia 11 for the Knights.

                                   

Cole Buckley added nine points and Ethan Owens eight for Franklin.

Alex Brady had 14 points, Shakiir Jordan 11, and Connor Perrye 10 for CASH.

GREENVILLE 67, SLIPPERY ROCK 54

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Greenville outscored Slippery Rock 21-11 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 67-54 win.

Logan Lentz had a monster game for Greenville, pouring in 31 points, 11 of which came in the fourth quarter.

Noah Philson also had 18 points for the Trojans and Jase Herrick added nine.

Levi Prementine and John Sabo had 11 points each for Slippery Rock, while Josh Book and Jacob Wolak had 10 apiece.

FAIRVIEW 52, SENECA 37

WATTSBURG, Pa. – John Seyboldt scored 16 points as Fairview earned a 52-37 win over Seneca.

Fairview has now won seven straight games.

Logan Kibbe had 14 points for Seneca.

GIRARD 54, NORTH EAST 38

GIRARD, Pa. – Dylan McDonald scored 16 points as Girard earned a 54-38 win over North East.

Kenny Godoy added 13 points, while Nate Edwards had nine points and three assists for Girard.

Demetrius Crosby had 14 points for North East.

                                  

FARRELL 53, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 32

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Farrell outscored Kennedy Catholic 34-17 in the second half to earn a 53-32 win.

Kylon Wilson and Danny Odem had 15 points apiece to lead Farrell, while Nasir O’Kane added eight points.

Thorsten Hart had 17 points for Kennedy Catholic.

MCDOWELL 63, GENERAL MCLANE 50

ERIE, Pa. – Tyler Grove and Kamden Kramer scored 14 points each as McDowell earned a 63-50 win over General McLane.

The Trojans scored 25 points in the second half en route to the win.

Ben Moore added seven points for McDowell.

SHARON 63, HICKORY 58

SHARON, Pa. – Sharon built a 32-19 halftime lead and held off a late Hickory rally for a 63-58 Region 5 win.

Derek Douglas led three Sharon players in double figures with 16 points, while Lamont Austin had 14 and Santino Piccirilli 10.

Rylan Dye had a game-high 24 points for Hickory, while Tyson Djakovich added 11.

MERCER 62, WEST MIDDLESEX 52

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Jake Mattocks poured in 26 points as Mercer earned a 62-52 triumph over West Middlesex.

Mattocks was hot early, nailing three 3’s in the first quarter.

Bubba Palmer added nine points and Braden Balaski and Nate Haines eight points each.

Richie Preston had 26 points for West Middlesex, 14 of which came in the third quarter.

MEADVILLE 75, FORT LEBOEUF 36

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Lucas Luteran and Jack Burchard combined for 48 points as Meadville earned a 75-36 win over Fort LeBoeuf.

Luteran scored 25 points and Burchard 23, with the Bulldogs scoring 28 points in the second quarter en route to the win.

Kellen Ball also added 14 points for Meadville.

Carson Papay had 15 points to lead Fort LeBoeuf, while Ronan Dorler added nine.

SHARPSVILLE 42, LAKEVIEW 29

STONEBORO, Pa. – Liam Campbell had 17 points and nine rebounds as Sharpsville beat Lakeview, 42-29.

Luke Staunch added eight points and Luke Distler seven for Sharpsville.

Cam Pence had 12 points for Lakeview.

CATHEDRAL PREP 53, ERIE 48

ERIE, Pa. – Jake Sambuchino scored 19 points as Cathedral Prep earned a 53-48 win over Erie.

Amaree Pickens and Semontae Lofton added 12 points each for the Ramblers, who outscored the Royals 35-28 in the second half.

Jay Smith led Erie with 14 points.

GROVE CITY 72, WILMINGTON 19

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Ben Fisher scored 19 points as Grove City powered past Wilmington, 72-19.

Nathan Greer added 13 points for Grove City, while Paul Gubba added 11.

Anthony Reed had nine points for Wilmington.

REYNOLDS 64, GEORGE JUNIOR REPUBLIC 60

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Reynolds outscored George Junior Republic 21-13 in the fourth quarter for a 64-60 win.

Jake Williams poured in 24 points in the win, while Haydin McLaughlin added 11.

Elijah Gist had 22 points for GJR.
