Brookville’s Zimmerman Named Week Six 2022 District 9 Jim Kelly POW Powered by the Allegheny Grille

WARREN, Pa. – Jackson Zimmerman became a workhorse like none scene most likely in Brookville history, and the result was an upset win for the Raiders over St. Marys Friday night, 22-19.

Zimmerman carried the ball for what might be a Brookville record 37 times while gaining 235 yards and scoring two touchdowns in the victory and is the Week 6 2022 YDL Sports Network D9and10Sports.com Player of the Week powered by the Allegheny Grille in Foxburg.

Additional players who need to be mentioned who had fantastic weeks – it should be kept in mind that stats are not the sole driver of the Player of the Week with such important factors including opponent, the importance of the game, clutch play, and others equally weighed – include Central Clarion’s Ryan Hummell (game-winning touchdown run in overtime while carrying the ball for 24 yards on four carries and catching one pass for 15 yards) and Jase Ferguson (17 carries, 138 yards, 1 TD; 16 of 30 passing, 209 yards, 2 TDs, 2 Ints), Coudersport’s Xander Brown (17 carries, 80 yards, 1 TD; lone TD in a 6-0 win over previously unbeaten ECC), and Clearfield’s Brady Collins (17 carries, 224 yards, 3 TDs).

Those players are joined on the Honor Roll by Central Clarion’s Ashton Rex (7 catches, 108 yards, 2 TDs), Brookville Bryce Weaver (8 tackles, forced fumble that led to Brookville’s game-winning score; 6 punts 37.5 avg. 3 inside the 20), Ridgway’s Luke Zimmerman (Game-saving int and TD catch), Otto-Eldred’s Andrew Schenfield (Threw for 255 yards, 3 TDs), Redbank Valley’s Drew Byers (12 carries, 106 yards, 2 TDs) and Cam Wagner (19 of 23 150 yards, 3 TDs), Brockway’s Jendy Cuello (175 yards, 1 TD), Moniteau’s Hunter Stalker (24 carries, 156 yards, 1 TD), Cameron County’s Malaki Zucal (16 carries, 110 yards; 1 catch, 14 yards, 1 TD), Clearfield’s Carter Chamberlain (12 carries, 115 yards, 3 TDs), and Port Allegany’s Drew Evens 12 carries, 88 yards, 3 TDs; 9 of 17 passing, 70 yards, 1 Int).

Jim Kelly is the Hall of Fame quarterback of the Buffalo Bills who grew up in East Brady, Pa. and went to Miami (Fla). Kelly was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002 after passing for over 45,000 yards as a pro, including two seasons in the USFL, with 320 career touchdown passes. He led the Bills to four straight AFC Titles. Kelly’s name on the award is being used with his permission.
