DUBOIS, Pa. – Cassie Scarborough hit a go-ahead 2-run single in the fifth inning and then what proved to be the game winning knock with her RBI single in the top of the seventh as Cranberry beat Curwensville, 7-6 for D9 Class 2A softball title.
Trailing 5-4, Scarborough’s hit in the fifth made it 6-5, and her single in the seventh made it 7-5. Curwensville got back within one on Ava Hainsey’s RBI single with two outs in the seventh, but Reyna Watson struck out Jenna McCartney to secure the title for the Berries.
