DUBOIS, Pa. – Scoring five runs in the top of the seventh inning, Clarion rallied past two-time defending champion DuBois Central Catholic, 6-3, in the District 9 Class 1A baseball title game Monday afternoon at Showers Field in DuBois.
The Bobcats, who won their first-ever D9 title, trailed 3-1 entering the seventh but a one-out double by Dawson Smail tied the game at three. Bryce Brinkley then followed with a triple to right to give Clarion the lead for good.
Matt Alston came on in the fourth inning to get the win in relief.
