HERSHEY, Pa. – Layke Fields completed a 3-point play with 5.1 seconds left to complete the comeback and lift Kennedy Catholic to a 42-40 win over Marion Center for its second straight PIAA Class 2A girls’ basketball championship.

The Golden Eagles trailed by eight, 31-23, midway through the third quarter and were still down four, 38-34, midway through the fourth. Fields made a layup and Bella Magestro knocked down a three to cut the lead to one, 40-39, with just under two minutes to play.

Marion Center’s Lydia Miller missed a pair of free throws with 27 seconds left which set the stage for Fields. Fields was fouled as she made a layup and then made the free throw for the final margin.
