SHARON, Pa. – Reynolds is on top once again.
After having their streak of nine consecutive District 10 Class 2A team titles snapped last season, the Raiders are back on top after a 38-28 win over Fort LeBoeuf in the finals.
Reynolds’ Vito Gentile, with the Raiders leading 32-28, pinned Fort LeBoeuf’s Dominic Stearns in 3:38 to close out the match and the title for the Raiders.
A turning point came when Reynolds’ Chase Bell won by disqualification over Fort LeBoeuf’s JoJo Przybycien after Przybycien slammed Bell to the mat.
That made the score 24-22 Reynolds, which was followed by a major decision from Reynolds’ Tino Gentile over Blake Glass at 139.
LeBoeuf got a pin from Jackson Bowers at 145 before a major decision from Reynolds’ Louie DeJulia at 152, setting up Gentile at 160.
Reynolds also got pins from Angelo Lomonte at 107 and Waylon Waite at 114.
Fort LeBoeuf got a pin from Dan Chruch at 215 and a 10-0 major decision from John Duran at 285.
Reynolds advanced to the finals via a 48-22 quarterfinal win over Grove City, followed by a narrow 32-30 win over Corry.
LeBoeuf, meanwhile, beat Sharpsville 57-12 in the quarterfinals and General McLane 34-21 in the semifinals.
Fort LeBoeuf will wrestle a preliminary round match against Frazier on Monday, with the winner to meet District 4 champion Warrior Run on Thursday at Hershey’s Giant Center.
Reynolds, meanwhile, will meet District 1 champion Faith Christian on Thursday.
