DUBOIS 15, CLARION 10

DUBOIS, Pa. – Trailing 8-2 after three innings, DuBois took advantage of six total errors by Clarion in the fourth and fifth innings to rally for a 15-10 win at Heindl Field in DuBois.

The Lady Beavers scored 13 runs in their final three at-bats plating four in the fourth, five in the fifth, and four more in the sixth.

The rally started in the fourth with a Jaden Swatsworth triple scoring Bella Gregory, who had doubled leading off the inning. Gabi Gulvas then doubled home Swatsworth before two runs scored when shortstop Emeileigh Mahle booted a ball all the way into the left-field corner that allowed Gulvas and the batter, Lauren Walker, to race home making it 8-6.

After Clarion got two runs back in the top of the fifth, DuBois took the lead in the bottom of the inning.

Swatsworth’s RBI single made it 19-7, and then a triple by Sarah Henninger made it 10-9 before Henninger scored on an error, and Gulvas scored on an error to make it 11-10.

The Lady Beaver tacked on in the seventh thanks to an RBI infield single by Walker, a bases-loaded walk to Morgan Pasternak, and a two-run single by Allie Snyder.

                          

Clarion had built the 8-2 lead on the strength of a four-run first and two runs in the second and two more in the third.

Noel Anthony led off the season for the Lady Cats by ripping the first pitch she saw into the left-center field gap for a double and came around to score when Kylie Beers reached on an error, Payton Simko came home on a wild pitch, Emily Troese had an RBI single, and Mahle walked with the bases loaded.

In the second inning, Beers had an RBI single and Troese was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and in the third Anthony, who triples leading off, scored on a squeeze bunt by Jordan Best, and Best scored on a base hit by Hadley Campbell.

Henninger, who was named the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Game, was 2-for-4 with a pair of triples, two runs scored, a walk, and two RBIs.

Gulvas, Pasternak, and Snyder each also drove in a pair of runs for DuBois with Gulvas scoring three times and Walker twice. Swatsworth was also 2-for-2 with two walks, three runs scored, a triple, and two RBIs.

Anthony was 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored for Clarion with Best going 2-for-5 with a stolen base, two runs scored, and an RBI. Beers drove in two runs while going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs, and Campbell was 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI. Troese and Bri Forrest each added a pair of RBIs for the Lady Cats.

Snyder got the win in relief of Emma Delp. She pitched 5 ⅔ innings allowing four runs, three earned, on six hits, four walks, and a hit batter while striking out six.

Delp lasted 1 ⅓ innings allowing six runs, five earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out two.

Simko took the loss giving up 14 runs, seven earned, on 10 hits and four walks while striking out four. Haylee Kratsley gave up one earned run on two hits and a walk while striking out one.

A-C VALLEY 8, CLARION-LIMESTONE 7

WEST FREEDOM, Pa. – Mackenzie Parks hit a two-run, walk-off home run to right field, as A-C Valley rallied past visiting Clarion-Limestone, 8-7.

The Lady Falcons trailed 7-5 going to the bottom of the seventh after C-L had broken a five-all tie with two runs in the top of the inning.

            

But Meah Ielase started the rally with a one-out single, and Avah Burke doubled her home before Parks launched the game-winning bomb.

C-L had taken the lead on a Frances Milliron sacrifice fly and an RBI groundout by Regan Husted in the top of the inning.

The game-winning home run capped off a monster day for Parks, who was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and five RBIs.

Burke also had a big day at the plate for A-C Valley going 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored, and an RBI, while Rylan Strausser was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Parks got the win going seven innings allowing seven runs, six earned, on nine hits and three walks while striking out four.

Milliron had a big day at the dish for C-L going 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and a run scored. Alyssa Wiant was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and Husted was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two RBIs. Abby Knapp also went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Husted took the loss going 6 ⅓ innings allowing eight runs, all earned, on 11 hits and two walks while striking out six.

CLEARFIELD 5, BALD EAGLE AREA 1

WINGATE, Pa. – Emma Hipps threw a four-hit gem, and Alaina Fedder drove in three runs to lead visiting Clearfield past Bald Eagle Area, 5-1, in Mountain League action.

Hipps allowed one unearned run on four hits, six walks, and a hit batter while striking out 13 in seven innings of work.

Fedder was 2-for-4 with the three RBIs and was part of an 11-hit attack for the Lady Bison.

Also for Clearfield, Lauren Ressler went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double, two runs scored, and an RBI, Hipps helped her own cause by going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, and Rubby Singleton and Oliva Bender were each 2-for-4 with Bender scoring a run.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 2, INDIANA 1

INDIANA, Pa. – Behind the pitching of Karli Young, visiting Punxsutawney nipped Indiana, 2-1.

Young allowed one earned run in seven innings of work on seven hits while striking out three.

That was enough for the Lady Chucks to get the win against Indiana’s Addie Stossel, who gave up two runs, one earned, on seven hits and a walk while striking out eight.

Emily Dobbins, Ciara Toven, and Avary Powell each had a pair of hits for Punxsutawney with one of Dobbins’s being a triple. Kaylee Guidice drove in a run for the Lady Chucks, and Toven and Brynn Hicks scored.

Liz Flanders and Tori Manzek each had two hits for Indiana with Ella Myers adding an RBI.

COUDERSPORT 5, GALETON 3

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – A three-run fifth inning lifted Coudersport past visiting Galeton, 5-3.

Makenzie Gentzyel’s RBI single scored Sierra Myers to break the 3-all tie in the fifth.

Myers had a huge game for the Lady Falcons going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI with Gentzyel going 2-for-3 with a triple, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Chloe Fuller was 1-for-1 with two walks and an RBI for Galeton.

Savannah Myers got the win in relief of Emma Saulter going three innings of scoreless, hitless ball. She walked one and struck out two.

Saulter pitched four innings giving up three runs, one earned, on four hits and three walks while striking out six.

Mikayla Schott took the loss pitching six innings giving up five earned runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out seven.



ST. MARYS 16, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 4, 5 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Kara Hanslovan drove in six runs to lift visiting St. Marys to a 16-4, five-inning win over Elk County Catholic at Benzinger Park in St. Marys.

Hanslovan was 4-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored.

Also going deep for the Lady Dutch was Olivia Eckels, who was 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Kendall Young, Gianna Surra, and Lindsey Reiter each added a pair of hits in the win with Surra doubling and Reiter driving in two. Courtesy runner Sophia Benjamin scored twice.

Ellie Baron went deep for ECC and was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Caitlyn Vollmer was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI for the Lady Crusader as well.

Young got the win pitching five innings allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out eight.

Emily Mourer took the loss going five innings giving up 16 runs, 12 earned, on 16 hits and five walks while striking out two.

KARNS CITY 10, REDBANK VALLEY 0, 6 INNINGS

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Marra Patton and Allison Walker combined on a one-hit shutout, and Patton and Rossi McMillen each drove in three runs to help Karns City to a 10-0, six-inning, win over visiting Redbank Valley.

Patton pitched five innings allowing one hit and a walk while striking out five, while Walker went an inning striking out the side.

Meanwhile, Patton homered twice at the plate part of a four-home-run day for the Lady Gremlins. She was 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and three RBIs.

McMillen also went deep and triples while going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

Jade Polcyznksi also homered in the game for Karns City and was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs with Zoie King going 2-for-4 with an RBI, Sarah Patton 2-for-2, and Ava Fox 1-for-1 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Keyauna Schimp had the lone hit for Redbank Valley.

Mackenzie Foringer took the loss lasting 5 ⅓ innings allowing 10 runs, four earned, on 14 hits and a walk while striking out one.

MONITEAU 23, UNION 7, 4 INNINGS

DUBOIS. Pa. – Emma Covert went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, a walk, five runs scored, and five RBIs to lead Moniteau to a 23-7, four-inning win over Union at Heindl Field in DuBois.

Destiny Travis added three RBIs for the Lady Warriors going 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.

Megan Wise was also 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBIs, and four runs scored in the victory with Brianna Rottman scoring five runs.

Mackenzie Davis drove in three runs for Union while going 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and a run scored with Rebecca Solida also driving in three runs while going 1-for-1 with a double and a walk.

Brynne Barger got the win going two innings allowing six runs, three earned, on three hits and five walks while striking out four.

Mariska Shunk also pitched two innings allowing a run on a hit and three walks while striking out three.

Emerson Stevens took the loss going 2 ⅔ innings allowing 13 runs, all earned, on eight hits and four walks while striking out five. Magen Walzak gave up 10 runs, two earned, on two hits and six walks.

OSWAYO VALLEY 14, PORT ALLEGANY 2, 5 INNINGS

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Charlotte Austin-Keech, MaKenzie Mesler, Eva West, and Brooke George each had three hits and MacKenzie George drove in three runs to lift visiting Oswayo Valley to a 14-2, five-inning win over Port Allegany.

Austin-Keech went 3-for-4 with two runs scored with Brooke George going 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI, West was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, and Mesler went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. MacKenzie George was also 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and three RBIs.

MaKenzie Mesler got the win going five innings allowing two earned runs on seven hits while striking out nine.



KANE 8, YOUNGSVILLE 6

KANE, Pa. – Jenny Crowley had a home run and a single to help Kane beat visiting Youngsville, 8-6.

Kate Parana added a pair of hits, including a double, for the Lady Wolves who also got two singles each from Hailey slater and Leah Tigani.

Leah Romanowski had a double for Youngsville.

Tigani got the win going 3 ⅓ innings allowing one unearned run on one hit while striking out three.

FOREST AREA 9, CRANBERRY 9, GAME CALLED BECAUSE OF DARKNESS AFTER 7 INNINGS

TIONESTA, Pa. – Forest Area and Cranberry were tied at nine at the end of seven innings when darkness forced the game to be suspended at West Forest.

It is not known if it will be continued per PIAA guidelines.

The Fires led by four, 9-5, going to the seventh before Cranberry scored four times in the seventh to tie the game.

Keelie Schneider started the rally with a solo home run leading off the inning, and Reyna Watson’s fly ball with one out scored Olivia Plummer to tie the contest at nine.

Madison McFarland had a triple and four RBIs to place Forest Area with Emma McFarland going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Schneider was 2-for-4 while adding a double to her home run. She scored twice and drove in two runs. Denali Wenner was 3-for-4 with a triple, a run scored, and an RBI, Jenna Blitz was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Plummer was 3-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored, and Kendall Findlay was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Alaina Hogue started and went two innings for Cranberry giving up six earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one. Watson relieved and pitched three innings allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits and two walks, and Plummer pitched two innings allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out three.

Izabelle Flick pitched for Forest Area going seven innings allowing nine runs, six earned, on 13 hits and five walks while striking out five.
