CLEARFIELD 13, BROOKVILLE 9

HYDE, Pa. – Scoring 13 runs on just five hits, Clearfield topped visiting Brookville, 13-9.

The Bison took advantage of 14 free passes – 13 walks and a hit batter – and two Raiders’ errors to get the victory.

Blake Prestash hit a home run for Clearfield and was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs, while Morgen Billotte drove in three runs while going 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a run scored.

   

                  

Also picking up a pair of RBIs for the Bison were Cole Bloom, who was 2-for-4 and Nolan Barr, while Barr, Kyle Elensky, Ty Troxell, Mike Fester (who walked four times) and Elijiah Quick each scored a pair of runs.

Brookville had 10 hits but left eight on bases including leaving the bases loaded in both the sixth and the seventh.

Hunter Geer paced the Raiders going 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI. Griffin Ruhlman had a pair of doubles and was 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Hunter Roney homered and was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs. Jamison Rhoades added a 2-for-5 day with a run scored, and Owen Caylor drove in a pair of runs.

Pretash got the win in relief of Ryan Gearhart. He pitched five innings allowing one unearned run on four hits and four walks while striking out five.

Gearhart went two innings and gave up eight runs, four earned, on six hits and a walk while striking out one.

                          

Bryce Rafferty, the second of three Brookville pitchers took the loss giving up four runs, all earned, on a hit and five walks in ⅔ of an inning.

Ruhlman started and went 1 ⅓ giving up eight runs, seven earned, on three hits and four walks.

Rhoades pitched four innings allowing an unearned run on one hit, four walks, and a hit batter while striking out five.

ST. MARYS 1, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 0

               

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Christian Coudriet tossed a one-hit shutout, as St. Marys edged visiting Elk County Catholic, 1-0, at Berwind Park.

Coudriet walked one and struck out nine while using 86 pitches.

St. Marys scored the game’s only run in the fourth inning on a one-out, bases-loaded infield single by Carter Price that scored Conner Straub, who had started the inning with a walk.

A second walk and a dropped third strike helped load the bases for Price.

Ben Paul was the tough-luck loser going four innings allowing one earned run on three hits and three walks while striking out four. Tommy Slay pitched two scoreless innings allowing two hits while striking out four.

Isaac Dellaquila had the lone hit for ECC.

KARNS CITY 3, REDBANK VALLEY 1

BUTLER, Pa. – Cole Sherwin outpitched a trio of Redbank Valley pitchers, as Karns City edged the visiting Bulldogs, 3-1, at Michelle Krill Memorial Field at Historic Pullman Park in Butler.

Sherwin needed just 81 pitches to go seven innings. He allowed one earned run – in the seventh – on two hits and three walks while striking out two.

Bryson Bain started and took the loss for Redbank Valley going two innings allowing two unearned runs on two hits and two walks while striking out four. Ty Carrier pitched three scoreless, hitless innings allowing a pair of walks while striking out two, and Cam Wagner pitched one inning allowing an unearned run on a hit while striking out two.

            

Hunter Troutman was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored to lead Karns City, while Tyler Hetrick and Trevor Rearick had hits for Redbank Valley.

MONITEAU 8, A-C VALLEY/UNION 5, 9 INNINGS

DUBOIS, Pa. – Moniteau scored three times in the top of the ninth to break a five-all tie on its way to an 8-5 win over A-C Valley/Union at Stern Field in DuBois.

Jakub Obman broke the tie on a single to left that scored Keagan Book, and Connor Ealy added a two-run single later in the inning.

Moniteau forced extra innings with a run in the top of the seventh when a walk, a single, a hit batter loaded the bases with one out for Obman, whose RBI groundout tied the game.

A-C Valley/Union had taken a 5-4 lead when it scored four times in the bottom of the sixth taking the lead on a bases-loaded, two-out walk to Lane Bauer. Max Lowrey also had a two-run double in the inning.

Trey Fleming led A-C Valley/Union going 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI, while Lowery was 1-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs. Sebastian Link was also 1-for-2 with three walks, a run scored, and an RBI.

Obman had a monster game for Moniteau. In addition to the game-winning RBI and tying the game in the seventh, he also hit a home run and drove in six while going 3-for-5 with a run scored.

Ealy was 1-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs, Keagan Book scored three times while going 1-for-3 with two walks, and Dawson Wallace scored twice while going 1-for-2 with two walks.

Wallace got the win going two innings allowing a hit and a walk while striking out two.

Branson Carson started for the Warriors and pitched five innings allowing one earned run on two hits and four walks while striking out 11.

Brock Mathews gave up the lead allowing four earned runs on four hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out three.

Ryan Cooper took the loss going 3 ⅔ innings allowing four runs, all earned, on five hits, a hit batter, and three walks while striking out six.

Gary Amsler started for the Falcon Knights and pitched 5 ⅓ innings before reaching 100 pitches. He gave up four earned runs on two hits and five walks while striking out 10.

BRADFORD 9, BROCKWAY 4

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Bradford broke a four-all tie with five runs in the top of the seventh to beat Brockway, 9-4.

Cam Austin’s infield single in the seventh broke the tie, and an error by Brockway allowed two more runs to score before Ryan Ward added an RBI double and Travis Barger an RBI groundout.

Austin led the Owls going 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored, and three RBIs. Michael Gow was 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI, and Michael Greenberg added two RBIs.

Gow got the win in relief of Austin pitched 1 ⅔ innings allowing one earned runs on two hits while striking out one.

Chad Young was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Brockway with Marcus Bennett going 2-for-3, and Dylan Bash 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Andrew Brubaker took the loss going one inning allowing three runs, all earned, on a hit and a walk.

Ezra Swanson went five innings allowing four runs, one earned, on four hits and two walks while striking out two. Young pitched an inning allowing two unearned runs on a hit and a strikeout.

COUDERSPORT 15, GALETON 3, 5 INNINGS

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Dillon Howard went 2-for-2 with a triple, a run scored, and four RBIs to help Coudersport to a 15-3, five-inning win over visiting Galeton.

Garrett Kellert was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs for the Falcons with Owen Deutschlander driving in two runs and scoring twice, Wyatt Daisley going 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, and three runs scored, and Gavyn Ayers going 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored, and an RBI. Jacob Hooftallen also scored twice.

Ayers got the win in relief of Kellert going a scoreless inning walking one and striking out the side.

Kellert pitched two innings allowing one earned run on a hit and a walk while striking out three.

LT Myers pitched an inning allowing two unearned runs on one hit, two walks, and two hit batters. Cameron Reese also pitched a scoreless, hitless inning walking one and striking out one.

Trey Kalacinski took the loss going 2 ⅓ innings allowing 15 runs, 10 earned, on four hits, seven walks, and three hit batters.

PORT ALLEGANY 10, OSWAYO VALLEY 0, 5 INNINGS

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Ty Guilds threw a five-inning no-hitter walking one and striking out six to help Port Allegany to a 10-0, five-inning win over visiting Oswayo Valley.

Guilds, Blaine Moses, and Ian Dynda also each drove in two runs for the Gators with Moses going 1-for-3 with a run scored and a walk, Dynda 1-for-3 with two runs scored, and Guilds 1-for-1 with a walk.

Also for the Gators, Drew Evens was 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored.

BELLEFONTE 10, DUBOIS 4

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – Triston Heckman was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs to help Bellefonte down visiting DuBois, 10-4.

Kenny Squires and Josh Brown each added a pair of RBIs for the Red Raiders.

Al Pasternak was 2-for-2 with two walks and a run scored for DuBois.

Trevor Johnson got the win going four innings in relief allowing one unearned run on three hits and three walks while striking out three.

Gavin Kaschlak took the loss going three innings allowing nine runs, eight earned, on seven hits and five walks.
