College Athletics plan if applicable: I would love to play sports in college. I’m exploring the idea of playing multiple sports in college. Obviously, my education is the priority in college and picking the right college and major for me takes precedence over athletics.

Q&A

Q: How did you get involved in playing sports?
A: My parents got me involved with sports early. I started with Blast Ball (baseball) when I was six. I was on the YMCA swim team when I was seven. I broke my first YMCA swim record when I was eight.

Q: What is the most enjoyable thing you have ever had happen to you on an athletic field?
A: Going undefeated for the first time in school history in swim was pretty cool. We then went on to break both the 400 free relay and 200 free relay school records at states. I’ve always been motivated by breaking records. Doing it with a team is especially awesome.

Q: If you could go to any event (it doesn’t have to be a sporting event) in the world, what would it be and why? *
A: I’d like to see the Pittsburgh Pirates in the World Series. I got to go to the last Wild Card playoff game at PNC Park and the energy in the crowd was amazing at the beginning of the game.

Q: What teacher has had the most impact on you in school? Why?
A: My Mom is a teacher at a neighboring School District (Cranberry). So while she has never been my teacher at school, she’s been teaching me my entire life.

Q: Do you have any superstitions in any of the sports you play?
A: I really don’t have any superstitions. My parents always tell me to do my best and to have fun.

Q: You have one day where you can do anything your heart desires. Cost is not a factor. What would it be?
A: I want to play Pebble Beach golf course with my dad. We just won a charity auction and that dream is going to become a reality next summer!

Q: If you could go back in time, where would you go and why?
A: You know in the movie Back to the Future, where Marty goes back in time and sees the high school versions of his parents? My parents were high school sweethearts. It would be pretty cool to go back and see their younger versions. I’d love to get to see my dad playing golf in his college years, to see my mom winning a D10 title in volleyball. My grandfather was a pretty good basketball player at Oil City High School. I would love to see him play in his prime.

Q: Is there anything you wish we would have asked you? If so, what is the question/answer?
A: What coach has had the greatest influence on your athletic career and why? I’ve been with my travel baseball coach Jim Revesz since I was 11 years old. Every practice starts with us sitting down and individually talking about what’s going on in our lives. He’s a bit of an old fashioned coach and that’s the style that seems to resonate the most with me. He holds everyone accountable for their actions on and off the baseball field. He has three sons that played D1 baseball. I love it when they come to practice to share their experiences with us. Coach Revesz and I have developed a special relationship and we have even started coaching a 10U baseball camp together for two weeks every summer. It is a great honor to coach by his side.
