Warren’s Irwin, Redbank’s Shoemaker, C-L’s Uckert, Ike’s Degnan Voted TapnPay+D10 & D9 Soccer Players of the Week

WARREN, Pa. – The votes are in for the Week 1 TapNPay+ District 10 and District 9 Soccer Players of the Week.

For the girls, Warren’s Meea Irwin earned the honors in District 10, while Redbank Valley’s Alexandra Shoemaker did so in District 9. On the boys’ side, Eisenhower’s Logan Degnan got the nod in District 10 and Clarion-Limestone’s Thomas Uckert in District 9.

In the most voted on of the four ballots, Irwin (53 percent of the vote) edged Titusville’s Addy Burleigh (46 percent) after Irwin’s four-goal, 1-assist performance in an 8-2 win over Titusville on Aug. 31.

Shoemaker, meanwhile, got the nod after a 4-goal performance in a 9-0 win over Keystone on Aug. 29. Shoemaker received 50 percent of the vote, while Port Allegany’s Jenn Baxter got 29 percent and DuBois Emily Graeca 21 percent.

For the boys, Degnan had four goals in an assist in a 5-0 win over Saegertown on Aug. 30. He received 56 percent of the vote, with Meadville’s Graham Shelhaas receiving 30 percent and Harbor Creek’s Ben Wolfe 14 percent.

Uckert, meanwhile, had two goals and three assists in a 6-0 win over Forest Area on Aug. 29. Uckert received 56 percent of the vote, while Brookville Steven Plyler received 36 percent of the vote and Coudersport’s Reilly Streich eight percent.
