Warren, Slippery Rock Volleyball Open Season with Wins Saturday

Summer Lucks had 15 digs in Warren's season-opening win over Harbor Creek Saturday
   

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Maddy Jones had nine kills to lead Warren to a season-opening 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-21) win at Harbor Creek.

Kylie Fehlman added six kills and three blocks for the Dragons with Alexia Bowers chipping in five kills and three aces.

Lindsay Madigan ran the offense for Warren with 18 set assists, and Summer Lucks paced the defense with 15 digs.

Hannah Smith had seven kills for Harbor Creek with Liz Gunther adding five kills.

Talon King (8 assists) and Addison Lucas (6 assists) ran the offense while Aly Hester added eight digs and Elise Benim six digs.

            

SLIPPERY ROCK 3, MONITEAU 0

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – After squeaking out a 28-26 first-set win, Slippery Rock had an easier time in the next two sets to get a 3-0 (28-26, 25-18, 25-9) win over visiting Moniteau.

“We had a strong offensive performance led by our three seniors Anora Robare (setter), Avalee Demidovich (outside hitter), and Molly Bissell (outside hitter),” Slippery Rock head coach Brandon Ferrier said. “Two impact performances by our sophomores on defense in the back row leading the team in digs and covering the back court well – Adison Novad (opposite/right side), Lexi Plesakov (libero).”

Slippery Rock stats weren’t available but Marissa Pry led Moniteau with four kills, four aces, three digs, and a block. Davina Pry added four kills, four digs, and a block for the Lady Warriors.

Abbey Jewart ran the offense for Moniteau with 13 set assists to go with three kills and two aces.
