Upper Dublin Forfeits Semifinal Game vs. Cathedral Prep

UPPER DUBLIN TWP, Pa. – Upper Dublin has informed the PIAA that it won’t play its PIAA Class 5A semifinal game vs. Cathedral Prep.

The Ramblers now advance to the PIAA title game vs. the winner of the Pine-Richland/Governor Mifflin game. The title game is set for Friday, Nov. 27 in Hershey.

This is the second straight week Prep has advanced via forfeit having taken a win over Wyoming Valley West last week.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the forfeit came on the same day Upper Dublin superintendent Steve Yanni said the team had bren cleared to return to practice. The team hadn’t practiced Tuesday or Wednesday because of possible exposure to COVID-19 the paper said.

The PIAA announcement didn’t indicate a reason for the forfeit.
