BOYS SOCCER

ST. MARYS 2, KARNS CITY 1

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Liam Brem’s penalty kick with about two minutes to play lifted St. Marys to a 2-1 win over visiting Karns City.

The penalty kick resulted when the Dutch’s Casey Young was fouled in the box during a counterattack with about 2:20 to play. .

            

It was Brem’s second goal of the game, as he also gave St. Marys a 1-0 lead just under five minutes into the contest.

Karns City was able to tie the game on a PK before halftime and then the teams battled that way most of the second half.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 3, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 0

DUBOIS, Pa. – Wyatt Boyden scored twice, once on a penalty kick, in the second half to help visiting Clarion-Limestone shutdown DuBois Central Catholic, 3-0.

Boyden’s first goal came off a Thomas Uckert feed and gave the Lions a 2-0 lead. He then finished off the game with the PK goal.

                          

Brenden Bettwy out C-L up 1-0 at halftime.

Isaac Lerch made nine saves for C-L.

GIRLS SOCCER

KARNS CITY 4, ST. MARYS 2

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Four different Karns City players scored in a 4-2 win over St. Marys.

Phoebe Brandon, Bree O’Donnell, Sophia Bonetto and Hanna Dailey all found the back of the net for Karns City.

Lucy Hayes and Jenna Mazzaferro scored for Karns City.

Savanna Prescott had six saves for Karns City and Riquel Tripodi 16 for St. Marys.

KEYSTONE 2, FOREST AREA 1

MARIENVILLE, Pa. – Brianna Manno and Sarah Cotton scored to lift visiting Keystone to a 2-1 win over Forest Area at East Forest.

                        

Manno’s goal was assisted by Abbi Sell and Mariah Beary, while Cotton’s was unassisted.

Hayley Van Dyke scored on a penalty kick for the Fires.

Jerzey Bell had eight saves in the win.

GENERAL MCLANE 5, FAIRVIEW 2

EDINBORO, Pa. – Scoring four second-half goals, General McLane rallied from a one-goal halftime deficit to beat visiting Fairview, 5-2.

         

The Lancers trailed 2-1 at the break before exploding for the four-goal second half.

Sophia Allison scored twice for General McLane while Remy Suroviec had a goal and two assists.

Syndey Rotko and Sam Johnson also found the back of the net for the Lancer, and Scout Adamski added a helper.

Delany Vilushis and Maddy Brosig scored for Fairview.

CATHEDRAL PREP 3, HARBOR CREEK 0

ERIE, Pa. – Olivia Dixon, Callie Cacchione, and Roy Noonan scored to lead homestanding Cathedral Prep to a 3-0 win over Harbor Creek.

Jordan Senz recorded the shutout for the Ramblers, while Hayley Stadler, Reese Marie, and Cacchione each had assists.

MERCER 7, SHARPSVILLE 1

MERCER, Pa. – Maddy Bailey, Lauren Chess and Morgan Miller each scored twice for Mercer in a 7-1 win over Sharpsville.

Karleigh Heckathorn also scored for the Mustangs.

Macie Steiner had the lone goal for Sharpsville.

GIRARD 6, MAPLEWOOD 0

GUYS MILLS, Pa. – Maddie Soudan had two goals and three assists as Girard blanked Maplewood, 6-0.

Abbi Erion also had two goals and two assists in the win for the Jackets.

EISENHOWER 3, CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 3

RUSSELL, Pa. – Julia Gesing scored a pair of goals for Eisenhower as the battled to a 3-3 draw with Cambridge Springs.

Katie Bunk had the other goal for the Lady Knights.

Nola Zook scored all three goals for Cambridge Springs.

MCDOWELL 2, WARREN 0

ERIE, Pa. – Grace Faulkner scored a pair of second half goals to lift McDowell to a 1-0 win over Warren.

NORTH EAST 6, TITUSVILLE 0

NORTH EAST, Pa. – Amaiya Thomson had a goal and three assists as North East beat Titusville, 6-0.

Ava Alcorn, Eveyln Bish, Aalysha Geroge and Paige VanTassell also scored for North East.

SENECA 5, MERCYHURST PREP 0

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Autumn Waid scored a pair of goals as Seneca blanked Mercyhurst Prep, 5-0.

Ave Pushcak and Hailee Dolph also scored for Seneca, while Olivia Pikiewicz had three assists.
